I needed something to watch on Netflix and my friend told me to watch doctor who.. Now I'm on a mission to catch up so we can watch the season 8 opener when she comes to stay bank holiday weekend.

I'm halfway through season 4, it's pretty cheesy in parts but I like it,

Any other fans??

NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!

I love Doctor Who. Only the modern ones, I never watched the old old ones.

I cut a meet with someone short to see a series premiere a few years back . Saying that I had already booked that time up to watch it with my friend.

One of the series is a bit rubbish though so it'll be a slog to get through.

Titz Towers, North Notts

It's enjoyable, but I feel the last few series haven't been that clever. There are a number of faults, but there are only so many times he can defeat the Daleks and maintain credibility. Also, the concentration on epic backstories, with everything having significance is a bit wearing. I'd rather them do some fun episodes or a 4 parter, where it isn't all resolved in time for tea.

"He wakes up in the shower and it was all a dream"

Isn't that the premise for the new star trek films?

As for who, I am a big fan. I reall enjoyed matt smith as the doctor but the scripts were often lousy. Which is a shame as Steven Moffet wrote some of the best episode including blink, and " are you my mummy?"

As for the new series, I have seen the trailers an also the first episode. It was reminiscent of the Tom baker years in that its more like a sitcom than a drama. They play it for laughs nd Peter capaldi doesn't deliver then very well.

That said, the second time I watched it I enjoyed it a little better but it falls very short of all te hype. I wont give away any spoilers but there is a cameo you might like and won't expect

Blink is brilliant, genuinely creepy and I enjoyed the double episode with the scarecrows that followed it.

I used to like it when John Pertwee was the the Dr. Not keen on the modern ones though.

I love it too- it's a shame Netflix doesn't have the last couple of series yet.

I might be the only Whovian I know who cried when Amy & Rory were on "that roof" (Spoilers )

Purley

Love it.

except for Silvester McCoy who imo was rubbish.

The new cybermen are a big improvement on the old ones.

Moffet used to overcook some of the plots and was forced into silly endings sometimes. but loved the cheese and the jokes.

Cant wait to see what the new Dr is like.
