I take compliments from women as i feel women only say nice things to you if they mean it, men on the other hand, depends who they are, if they are a friend and i know they aren't after something i receive gratefully but some man will say anything to butter you up  |

I had a guy stop in a car by me the other day and ask me out for a drink  at the time i though cheeky bugger but when he drove off it did make me smile, i suppose i could have been taken as a compliment |

I had a phone call off a male friend today instead of the usual text.
He said that he wanted to hear my voice and laugh not just see a written response from me.

It is nice. I've never been good at accepting them since my natural cynicism tends to kick in but I've got better at saying "thank you" and it's a nice feeling.

I love to give compliments...and as I am usually a 'warts and all' guy, people who know me take it as genuine.
Britsh women are terrible with compliments and the 'what are you after ?' response is common.
A word of advice; if a guy pays you a compliment, make eye contact (checks sincerity), smile and say thankyou.
Thats it. Not difficult. Even if he is trying to get into your panties he has chosen that something to comment on...which must be a good thing
