Ok i have come to that time in my life when i am in my early forties. I used to do a physical job so never had to worry about keeping the weight off, but since i now basically sit at a laptop or sit in my car all day things have slipped. We have 2 young kids so there is not a lot of spare cash about so cannot do gym membership or personal trainers, and time is limited. I want to be able to play football wityh my boy without becoming a heaving sweaty mess.Wife want s to tone up a bit to.
There seems to be plenty of guys on here sporting the adonis body so i am asking them, is there an exercise routine that we can do at home that will help burn the calories and tone up muscle.
All help appreciated if you could pm us your ideas that would be great...
Thanking you all |

Playing football with your son becoming a sweaty mess is only the start. Keep it up and you'll get fitter. Im 45 and although not slim, go out with youngest on our Scooters. May look a Twat but its healthy and fun. Anything including got sweaty sex keeps the heart rate up and is good exercise |

Start with something small and stick to it. If you're out of shape, something simple like going out for a 10 mins walk every day will be a great start! Keep going and make it a habit.

I'm a big girl but Paul is pretty toned (depending on when he's being good) he never used to be that way - he is incredibly fit now. Basically he eats complex carbs - ie sweet potato, brown bread, rice. Lean protein- meat, fish, eggs, nuts
He doesn't always stick to this but when he does he tones up really quick and has loads of energy x |

Cut down on carbs
Knock bread and pasta on the head.
As with all exercise check with the doc's first.
A basic routine.
20 sit ups or crunch X2
Plank 30 seconds X2
Push ups 12 x3 sets
Squats 25x2
Hard walk not wank lol 20mins break a sweat
Do this a min 4times a week should give you roughly two hours of exercise a week and won't cost a penny.
After four weeks you should notice a difference.
Then u can start to get a bit more serious.
Stop smoking if you do smoke that is. Stop or cut back on booze.
Cut out salt and watch your saturated fat intake. And sugars.
Drink plenty of fresh water and have sex daily lol
Good luck |

If you want to be fit and toned then exercise. You could try turning household jobs like gardening and cleaning into part if that exercise routine if your stuck for time. If you have the space you can pick up a decent X trainer or treadmill for £100 quid. You could both do a bit on that each day.
Exercising however does not necessarily mean you will lose weight. Portion size and what you eat make the difference there. Good luck and enjoy the footy with your son. |

Get on yer bike!
A great exercise you can do with the kids. Go on family bike rides and take a picnic.
Go to nature reserves with a book on birds/insects etc or just go to different parks with the football or a rounders bat and ball. |

Being an over forty (go on then 50 now) my knees Don t like runming anymore,
Walking is great exercise, I do situps, press ups, and squats . all easily done in your home, make it a habit easy to start and then you don t bother playing football with your kids will be great exercise when youre feeling tired go in goals, let your kids have shooting practise, |

A number of years ago, I had put on a bunch of weight and decided to sort it out. Now I cycle to work 3 days a week. .. rain or shine I get up an bike the 10 miles there and at the end of the day 10 miles home again. This is something which took me from 14 stone to 12 in about 3 months and I now ride at 20mph and take part in occasional races. I still carry a bit of extra weight, but I'm fit and healthy.

Walking is a start !
Try insanity ? You only have to move a few steps but if you do the exercises right you can just go at your own pace .
It is about forty mins of shear hell but it works lol |

I do this, amongst other things, at my local leisure centre. They call it HIIT high intensity interval training. Start small and build up and eat sensibly. Worked for me and I still eat choccy so I'm still decidedly curvy
