Yeah... especially once your feet soles have become as tough as shoe soles after the repeated barefoot walking :P
My theory is that UK people get so few chances at "doing summer" they never get a chance to learn what is appropriate summer footwear. To my horror... many of my friends refer to their flipflops as "sandals", and the type of sandal I'd think is fit for the beach is to them suitable for a formal occasion! |

Flip flops on slim Women look 'ok...ish' but on overweight females they are hideous (It's A LOT worse when their gnarly trotters are all flaky and twisted)
Men that wear them to go to the supermarket are either gay (nothing wrong with that)or have very little self respect or dignity (something very wrong with that lol)
Personally I would rather blast my feet off with a sawn off shotgun than wear flip flops or Sandals.

I don't see how they are safe for walking around town/ theme parks!?!
Lately the people I've seen wearing them have about an inch thick layer of crusty skin on their heels.

I love my flip flops. I love being barefooted and flip flops allow me to walk where I can't barefoot.
I take them off to drive so don't risk getting them caught up in the peddles. |

I've no idea what ballet pumps are and I've never worn flip flops. All that shit on the streets getting in between your toes. You must have to wash your feet everytime you get in. |

Ha ha ha love the fact that soooo many men are getting this worked up about footwear. As I'm from Cornwall I grew up in flip flops so love them. The people who looked dodgy are the ones in sandals and socks.....sandals...and...socks wtf. And people who wear trainers all the time to anyplace...what/who are they running from ha ha! |

I did see a nice pair of Haciendas this week but decided that £22 for flip flops is too much.
Sandals and socks seems to be a trend with some women this summer. I keep seeing young women on the tube sporting little white socks with their sandals.

When you have broken your ankle and didnt have it set properly and then broken two toes again and multiple sprains and tendon damage to your foot sometimes all you can get on is flip flops due to how badly swollen the foot it |
