"Feeling very sad my cat of 14 years has just died
Never had to deal with a pet death before and it's the worst feeling ever.
I have no idea what to do with her. "
Aw, yes it is very sad, I love my animals desperately. If you have a long term home somewhere bury her and plant a little tree over. If not take her to the vets to be cremated. Big hugs anyway.

My heart goes out to you and I'm very sorry for your loss.
If you contact your local vet they can make arrangements for her to be cremated then you can collect her and put her to rest in your garden.
A lot of my friends have planted a special tree or bush in their gardens as a remembrance.
Take care x |

"Thanks everyone
My son has just said bye to her and we are going to bury her in the garden later.
Going to see if I can find a nice box and a tree "
That's a lovely idea. We have one cat and two rabbits buried In the back garden and a memorial Rose bush in the front for our border collie. Very sad but always lovely memories xx |

Big hugs man. Pets are the best friends people can have and loss felt is huge and real. Tough to feel thankful for all the smiles they gave when grieving but that will come. Sorry for your loss and total understanding of how you feel xx ~Sea |

losing a pet is horrible, they become part of our lives so when they do go its natural to feel upset..
that feeling will pass and you will still miss the little guy but the happier memories will linger.. |

Aww it's so sad when you lose a pet. We had our 17 year old cat put to sleep 2 days before Xmas. We buried her at the bottom of my in laws garden. We recently got a new kitten which has really cheered the kids up. |

Aww, I'm so sorry.
We lost our Yorkie a few months ago after 14 years.
We burried her in her favourite spot in the garden and have planted a rose bush over her.
It's a horrible thing to think about but just remember to take precautions to stop anything possibly digging them up again (foxes, ect).

Just where I need to be. |
When one of my cats died we buried him in the garden. The children each put one of his toys in box so he had something. to play with when he reached the land of open fields. We also got some sparklers and lit them and said a few words. I was heartbroken but the children coped better than me. Sorry to hear of your loss. |

Wow so many nice comments
I still have two other cats to keep me company so won't be getting another one.
The hardest part was when my son stroked her and said goodbye but he is looking forward to choosing a nice box. I'm loving the idea of putting bayou in, he will like that .

Sorry to hear about your little mate, it's always so sad when they go. We always rescue the older cats to give them a happy last few years of their lives. When they go, the vet has them cremated and we spread the ashes across our garden - the place they found comfort, safety and happiness. |
