It doesn't bother me but some women find it disrespectful.

Much prefer to voice my compliments in words.

On more than one occasion, I've made a ladies day by simply offering a compliment to say how pretty they look.

If it was out of work then id say it was ott. Well tbf it is ott anyways but I think it shouldnt be done at work to another work colleague as you now know it leads to trouble xx

In the workplace wolf whistles are considered inappropriate and you can be reprimanded for them.

They are not considered appropriate if (for example) you are a builder and wolf whistle at a passerby.

Yes they may be jokey and affectionately meant but are not acceptable in a 21st century workplace.

Work said it was an uncalled for move and arnt taking it ant further as i appologiesd as didnt mean any offence

I was just very supprised that anyone would class 1 little whistle as sexual harassment

I would much rather have a wolf whistle than have to work with someone that is slimey, invades personal space, stares at you for prolonged periods of time and knows exactly how to make suggestive remarks without being overtly sexual

You know where you are with a wolf whistle

Why did you feel the need to wolf whistle a colleague ?

Was it in a public place with lots of others about ?

Or was it when the pair of you were alone ?

There is a lot we don't know so can't really comment but I don't think it's really appropriate to be wolf whistling at colleagues. But I don't know what sort of work environment is.

in the night garden

I often wonder wear the term comes from.

I'm no expert on Wolves but as far as I'm aware they don't whistle. Not only that they don't even have human type lips to pucker up which is essential for whistling.

The closest thing to a predator whistling in the wild are the high pitched peeps and screeches of the Hyena but these are used to signal pack members of a rival pack in the vicinity. Nothing to do with a really hot hyena with big tits that has walked by.

Stop giving wolves a bad rap!!! I'm furious.

Some people strangely do not like to be objectified as objects for sexual titillation. Additionally it can be rather embarrassing to a person when attention is drawn to them in such a way that is unasked for and not really considering the feelings of that person.

It may sound shocking, but appearance can be a sensitive subject with some who prefer people to engage with them on a mental level as opposed to simply saying "cor nice legs love."

Many people find that degrading. It is usually best to exercise discretion when you don't know how the person or others feel about your insatiable desire to objectify people.
