Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My long weekend away is now going to be Derby based.

What do local people do in local places?

Is there culture or kink for my Saturday evening?

I'm going to do some walking but having a destination is always a good thing.

There is a swingers club in Derby which is running some kink based events.

However, I'm afraid I cannot recommend the venue (but I have no experience of the event).

Non recommendations are very useful too. I'll have to see who I can ensnare for Saturday evening entertainment then.

I was in Matlock last week to see a comedy show. Speaking of which, Joel Dommett is playing on Friday night.

The local swinging club is The Attic. This is a bit like Marmite. However, I like it very much and whilst I won't be there over the weekend due to work, my friend Gemma shall be, along with a host of other lovely people.

Central

The public transport would take you out to the local peak district, or an easy drive. The city centre is ok, as it is compact and easy to walk around. There are other clubs that are not far as well, giving you more options. Check out Derby theatre, in case something good is on. I dont live in Derby but prefer it to birmingham for most things. Hope you have a great time

I was going for one day and night with a friend but now that she isn't coming over my other plans have changed so I thought I'd make a weekend of it and go walking a bit and seeing things.

Yeah, thanks, only just spotted the thread.

Not been to the Theatre myself Lickety, but I'll check out what's on and let you know.

There is also the Silk Mill Industrial Museum (set on the site of the world's first factory). The Arboretuum is Britain's first public park. The Joseph Wright Institute is worth a visit as well.

As others have said, it is a tremendous base to visit places like The Peak District, Chatsworth House, Crich Tramway Museum or Buxton Opera House.

It's a compact City with lots of pubs and restaurants all within easy walking/staggering distance.

Hope this has been of some help and it would be nice to meet up again and escort you round some of the places that Derby has to offer

And in addition to all that, The Football Season kicks off on the Saturday and Derby are at home to Rotherham, there you go that's the 3 to 5 slot filled...

I would back up the suggestions if you have a car to visit Bakewell and Matlock Bath and Chatsworth House too.

There's also Major Oak which is about an hours drive from Derby in Sherwood Forest and that weekend is the conclusion of Robin Hood week. You never know you might find some men in tights...
