Hey up fabbers,
Just got my 3st stone award (and slimmer of the week) last night. Means I have lost 42.5lbs in 19 weeks.
Is anyone else doing SW, and how are you doing?

I found it was really hard to get my head round it for the first month or so as a former WW girl myself it seemed wrong to be able to eat so much and still loose weight but once i got into it Ive never looked back SW all the way for me now |

Thanks everyone.
I used to do WW years ago, lost 5 stone on the core plan, but stopped going when they stopped that plan. Put 7st back on over 5 years, and decided to do something about it in March.
I have found SW Easy plan to be really simple to get my head around, and just keep to 3 simple mantras:
1) hardly any processed foods, as they are all high salt and high sugar
2) "I want it, but don't need it"
3) portion control/stopping when I am full.

Well done.... my weight is like a yo yo and eat when am stressed with work. And I guess im too impatient for the weight to drop so lose interest too quickly. I done SW before and enjoyed it. Maybe I'll try again.
Thanks for posting your achievement. ..its an encouragement to us all x |

Well done on your weight loss. That's fantastic. Keep it up!!
I get put off joining slimming world or weight watchers as you hear of so many people who join over and over again. But I get that some need the additional support from it and it provides extra motivation.
I've lost a stone just eating healthily and upping my exercise (from nothing to at least 3 times a week)...2 stone left to go! |

I lost 2 stone on sw from January to April when I stopped going, I then put half of it back on. In a month back on it I've lost what I gained.
Our class had 2 awesome awards given last night. One lady got her 6 stone award and a guy got his 4 stone award. They are an inspiration to all the other members |

Fab news that's brilliant. I'm a SW'er too and love the ethics behind it as it's not a diet!! Lost 4 stone with it but then became disabled and lost mobility so put nearly 3 back on due to no exercise and depression. My head is out the other side now so starting again and dropped 5 last week 4.5 this week although it's much harder now not being able to exercise |

I'm with you on this one, I've changed my eating habits and walk loads etc and slowly the weight is coming off...I've never been keen on slimming clubs as they have not worked for me. |

If you're craving other then have some, either have a flexi day or just have a small amount and count the syns. I had fish, chips and curry sauce from the chippy last week and I still lost 2lb. |

"my gp referred me to slimming world for 12 weeks starting tomw it was that or a referral to the gym
Can you just go in and ask?" depends how overweight you are. Some local authorities not all will as already been said give you gym membership and or 12 weeks at slimming world. You have to fit a criteria though

I suspect I don't - I don't seem to qualify for anything ....hence why I'm doing it all myself. |

12 weeks is better than a kick in the teeth " it is and the insentive that some need. The people its aimed at seem to be those that need long term help. |

Yes I'm on slimming world but only lost 1.5 stone in 4 months.
In total though since being at my highest weight some years ago I've gone down 4 dress sizes and lost 7 stone, still a long way to go though!
Well done on your weight loss! |

I would like to know how they work out that I am not in need of long term help though....I'm not expecting you to be able to answer that, I'm just saying. Just because I'm in work and I'm not 30 stone yet, doesn't mean I don't have the capability to become that big...... |

Any 'diet' that isn't adhered to will end up with weight gain. Either choose to change lifestyles or continue to pay other people to help you lose weight. They all have a vested interest in making sure you keep coming back.

Well done OP - that's a fantastic achievement.
I've lost 9st but not on SW - I'm not really keen on slimming clubs and SW especially doesn't work for me. I still want to lose around another 3st.
Keep up the great work |

Well done honey .. I'm a SW-er too ! Got my two stone award last week which was week 18 .. it's so easy and it's NOT a diet. I see it as a structured series of changes so it's forever. I have a long way to go .. but I am measuring my loss in packets of butter. Dammit, that's how it got there in the first place Now on 58 packs !
I would never go back to doing my roasties the non SW way and I'm a whizz with the quiches .. favourite at the moment is a pea, courgette, and mint potato based one, with my healthy a worth of cheese on each portion before baking. It tastes like a sunday roast lamb dinner so is fantastic with cold lamb nomanomanom. Im also making my own yoghurt as Mueller light might be free but it's full of crap like aspartame. Its SO easy to do, takes very little time and you can control what you put in it ! Job done. |
