English Independance ?

Does anyone think its actually time for England to leave the UK never mind Scotland ! And what's the betting if we did they would want to stay in it !  |

Surely whether england scotland wales or northern ireland went independent then you no longer have an UNITED Kingdom
If the kingdom is the 4 countries and one leaves then they are no longer United

Maybe it's because it's a question that makes little sense?
England are in effect the 'lead' part of the UK. It has the capital city, the parliament, the monarchy... England couldn't leave the UK even if it wanted too |

Not so the constitution refers to all four parts as equal so it could leave theoretically the same as Scotland can the debate would then be is whats left still a united kingdom. |

If you look at the historical documents, the United Kingdom is only made up of the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. Hence if 1 leaves there is no United Kingdom in reality.

That would be because Wales was classed as England. |

For to long England has taken the abuse of the other home nations. Non other than Northern Ireland have anything good to say about the English, so I say let them leave, we should have our own independence.
Because non of the other home countries are in Europe, all those living in England should then need a working visa or risk deportation.

Scotland dont seem to realise they wont manage on their own.
I dont particularly want "English independance " but what I hate is that Scottish MPs vote on matters that only affect England, so at least if Scotland breaks away that will stop. |

I don't mind and am happy for Scotland to choose but once the choice is made I hope people shut the fuck up about it and the sooner it's done the better. |

To answer the above you're probably right about England leading the way on many fronts, but without being picky, London is the capital of England, not the other countries, each of whom have their own capital city. |

Agreed forthwith oh and then you can pay for your own £15 billion railway rather than the taxpayers throughout the rest of the UK subsidising it. As for paying for the rest of the UK, hmmm the city of London was the cause of virtually bankrupting the UK in 2008 and required multi billions to bail out the banks from the rest of the UK taxpayers too. I think you'll find that about 10% of the UK's money comes from London which means 90% comes from the rest of us and boy do you get your fair share back in transportation links, museums capital investment etc. The best bit of all you can keep your yobbo Boris too... |

the 1801 act of union included wales and ireland, then ireland split up and then it was northern ireland. the united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland, its on our passports. hopefully for a while yet. |

There is also a noticeably difference between the agenda of welsh and Scottish nationalists who in the main seek independence as opposed to british/english nationalists who's agenda is generally far more sinister |

We don't have a constitution for a start.
And England and Wales are counted as the same as they shared a monarch it's actually between England and Wales as one country and Scotland as a separate one |

No I am an English Nationalist that simply wants the four nations seperatate but to remain friendly as four seperate country's ! Each country to decide Thier own political leanings that's not an issue for me ! |

we live in a very multi culture society comming from west Yorkshire we have a growing Asian community. You cant make a Pearson a racist they will already have bigoted veiws already..
just because i love my Yorkshire home my English heritage plus my Scottish roots & my British History does not make me a racist it makes me a Proud Human |

As a reply to crystal wheels I think we would be all better off N Ireland to sort themselves , the scots to be socialist , the Welsh to stop hating the English , an the English to have a cup of tea an get on with things |
