No, there's been times where I've genuinely felt sad or loss at a celebs passing but I've had no affinity with them worthy of shedding tears.

No,I never have.

I'm more likely to cry over injured or dead animals than people.

I find the suffering or death of a child awful incredibly sad too but I wouldn't cry if I didn't know them.

As for Bambi's mother, I can't watch it.

I get quite choked up when Dumbo is taken from his mother too.

Mike Reid, think it's because my dad looked liked him slightly, the episode of his funeral in eastenders was quite sad.

REV, a band member from my favourite band, he was also quite young.

Don't think I can bring myself to watch the lion king for a good while now though due to my dad passing away in May.

I'd say she was after she divorces Charles. Depends on how you define celebrity. The two you mention in your original post I wouldn't even consider celebs.

But what is the difference ? Some people will be more attached to a Kim Kardashian type character than a Diana. I was shocked when Diana died but I can't really say I was upset. James Garners death today has affected me more. Although no tears.

The day Diana died, I'd gone back to a very good looking and ample bosomed girl's house, who I'd met the night before whilst out. I , being a gent, slept on the settee but in the morning she called me into her bed seductively. I jumped straight in, she was naked, I soon was, and then she put the radio on only to hear the news.... Needless to say, the moment was lost

So I did cry, but for very different reasons to the rest of the nation..

I didn't cry at the tine but like many I was in tears more than once during the memorial gig for Wiz the singer of Mega City 4.

The death of cyclists during races always upsets me.

Quite often it is the way someone is remembered that will have me crying rather than the actual passing.

Only cried once for one celebrity but that one was a close personal friend, and due to celeb status / work we hadn't spent much time together in the last year, so it was partly the loss of a friend but heavily tainted with guilt.

I was very shocked when Kurt Cobain died, but the only time a tear rolled down my cheek was when Amy winehouse died. Not for them, but for their family... Having suffered an unexpected loss myself, I know how the family must feel and what they have to go through - utterly devastating.

Tears started flowing when watching Lee Rigbys funeral too when his wife appeared with his son for the same reason.

I have never cried at the death of a celebrity. I'm not much of a follower of these things. Don't think any have that much of an effect on my life.

The only times i have cried have been when i've buried my friends and my grandfathers.

Quite recently i cried at the death of this young girl in Syria who a week or two ago we spoke to and saw her playing with the toys and gifts we sent her. That was heart wrenching that.

When you think of it like that. Celebrities don't even come close.

There's an old saying: "if you can't say anything nice say nothing at all". I believe it was written with people like you in mind.

I'm at a loss why someone would contribute to a thread, on the face of it, purely to belittle as many contributions as possible.

I know I can be an acquired taste and often pedantic but to deliberately post offensive/patronising comments toward multiple members is beyond even me.

Likewise im not annoyed just slightly incredulous about your 'laughing in your face' posts and the personal dig at cute. Your first post was 'this should be funny' - why's that? I think this is a cracking thread, it's interesting to see who and how people are effected by death.

I'm not annoyed either, I actually pity you. Which is probably worse!

The fact you've chosen to poke fun at and mock people's grief shows you have even less empathy than me!

I think it's sad that humans have to develop thick body armour to protect themselves from the slings and arrows other humans launch at them

I'd rather have thin sensitive human skin than a rhinoceros hide
