"Can anyone on here recommend a good fishery in the north west for specimen carp? Or about half hour from warrington?"
If you're a fisherman can I ask you a question? Can you buy hooks or something that guarantees to do no damage to the fish at all? I'd love to try fishing but don't want to hurt the fish. |

Metal, there's no such thing as plastic hooks, they would probably be worse to be honest, if you can fish well the fish won't realise what's happened if it's a quick experience for it. |

Grassmere was always a good spot.... Think it's a Warrington AA water but day tickets available. There's been some decent (but not huge) carp out of Ackers Pit too...but it can get busy. |

"Barbless hooks are probably your best best, the hook will come out a lot easier and quicker
Are they metal or plastic?
"
Only way your catching it is by putting a hole in it. Plastic would be dangerous as it would more likely break and if it did it wouldn't be rejected as well by the body ad metal would be.
There is no way to catch a fish on a line without dragging it out with a hook through its lip |
