North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Its the flying ants that are doing my head in at the moment. Every time I kill 'em and sweep them up their entire family comes to visit.

We had flying ant day yesterday.

Do you find its only the one day that they fuck around and all the seagulls fly high and have a feast on them?

Lavender oil or citronella oil will deter flies.

Put a bowl or glass of water in the room you want to keep them out of and drip some essential oil on the top of the water. As it evaporates it will carry the oil with it. Just put it out of reach of pets so they don't try to drink it.

Or if cats, put it in something with an opening too small for the cat to get its face in.

Try it in the house.

if you have a spare spray bottle you can put it in water, shake ans spray the walls/doorway.

We had issues with flies coming through kitchen door and bought a snappy door screen, no more flies. Best door screen we have used.

i keep seeing that people fill a freezer bag (or similar) with water, put a couple of coins in it, tie it and hang it outside doors and windows to stop flies coming in. I googled it, and apparently the sunlight hitting the coins in the water causes reflections that scares the flies off. or something.

Then again, could be a waste of time - not tried it myself
