pulling vigourously

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

And I m not getting very far, it coughs a bit and splutters, I ve put lube in it, its mow making this mans shoulder ache,

I wish I d bought an electric Mower, anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong,?

Clean and gap the plug, try priming the carb with a splash of petrol (most these days have a priming button to pump a bit of petrol in) - all else fails, try Cold Start sprayed into the air intake - if that doesn't start it, it means your spark is too weak or not present.
