Check out friends work. Ask for recommendations. If it's cheap don't get it done. A good artist will ask what you want and tell you if it's possible, not just agree for the money.
Go in with ideas, don't just walk in and say I want a sleeve done. Get a personal one, don't just point at a picture on the wall and go 'want that one.' |

Don't just go in blindly. Read reviews. Go in to shops and talk to the artists, see if you like their work and style. Be prepared to pay a lot of money, cos a bad tattooist isn't just gonna make you look bad, but is also a health risk.
Really important that you like THEM as well. If you're getting a full sleeve, you're gonna be spending a lot of time with them.
Have an idea but don't be a nazi with it, these guys are artists and should be allowed a little artistic freedom when doing something big  |

Yes. A tattoo artists will never do it all on once. Well they would rather not, because of the swelling involved and the loose of detail because of it.
Depending on the amounts of work or detail you may need 10 or so hours |

i very much doubt you would sit and have a full sleeve done in one sitting, one of mine took 14 hours and that's only a half sleeve |

My sleeve is a collection of pieces to make up a full sleeve, so is a little different to most sleeves. So far it has taken around 30 hours, and isn't even a half sleeve yet.
A sleeve done in the traditional way, as a picture or scene will take around 10-15 hours depending on detail. Expect around 3 sittings to to do the bulk of the work, and then a last sitting to iron out the finer detail and finishing. |

Had some work done on it a few years ago which is tribal. 4 hours worth. The tattoist has a good reputation and is booked months in advance. Trevs house of tattoos in Perth. Booked in for 4 hours. Will just keep looking through tinternet for ideas will post before and after pics lol |
