Since the shops had shut id forgotten all about them until i was reminded that 'Ladybird' were a great producer of kids school uniform

For me id nip into 'woolies' if i had a spare 10mins to kill or wanted to buy a latest music CD/DVD but these days supermarkets have adapted and taken over. Anyone else still shop with them?

Northampton

woolies are still going strong in the U.S - and they sell vibrators in there!

I miss them - used to love going in there for Bratz (yes they were for me - don't judge, I used to display them in pervy poses and orgies on my cabinet - much to the shock / amusement of friends and visitors)

"You can still buy ladybird clothes online"

i know, i was just looking online at school clothes when my grandparents said

'when you were a young maid you were dressed head to toe in ladybird'

which prompted me to think of Woolies

I used to dress my girls in lots of Ladybird clothes. And buy tons of Christmas pressies from there too. Only thing I miss now is the pick a mix

I miss Woollies.

There just isn't another high street store that sells such a great pick 'n' mix selection. Not to mention all those random things like shoelaces, padlocks, etc.

True. Their pick 'n' mix is nowhere near as good though

I typed that while eating some Haribo Giant Strawbs

It used to be a shop you would go into first if you were looki.g for something you had nowhere to start looking, 9 tines out of 10 you would find it in there as well. I did hear you can buy from them online.

I worked in my local Woolworths on Saturdays and during school holiday’s . First in stock room. But the week decimalisation was introduced. I was put on the toy counter with another female. Which was great fun. Trying out new toys etc . Apart from selling to customers.
