Ok so just wondering, is it bad etiquette for women or couples to send the first message or is it solely left to us single guys ?
Would make my day if I logged on and found a message from someone I never expected |

"I don't care about etiquette. I always send first messages. I am odd, I don't like people mailing me hence my shit profile. Much more fun to send mail. "

I don't think it's bad etiquette at all and have initiated contact with men by sending them messages first. Aswell as winking at the ones who catch my eye with their profile text and accompanying pictures |

You make your own rules, as long as everything is based on respect. Etiquette is there for the making and shaping, just as you wish it to be. Be friendly and others will be open to you, whoever contacts first, and it must be refreshing for single guys who feel they slog away to have contact made first to them - I do it, but mail management overall can be a slog for many of us. |

"Nope, its not, well so long as its not 'fancy a fuck' ;-)"
I send first messages. I have had success with 'fancy a fuck?' as well as some even cruder ones. The guy involved was someone I'd already met and we did share a sense of humour though. |

I thought bad etiquette is not holding a door open for a woman or walking on the inside of the pavement.
It would maybe be considered bad etiquette not to respond to a woman online. |

Just single guys to women is high and most women will be too busy reading mail to have time to send it! Dint be a bitch about it, man up and think of something to send them with some originality so they reply, if not then you know to stop wasting your time on them! |

Holding doors and shit is politeness as is responding to a message even if for a "no thanks" regardless of male or female, if someone has put effort into messaging you, its polite to reply either way. No reply really bugs me but at same time I get over it quick and realise that person obviously isn't for you so, fingers up and move on |

always send messages on my single profile and this one. I even get messages ignored or deleted, but it doesn't stop me sending messages to others.
