The gag reflex isn't in the back of your throat, it's the point where the back of your tongue begins to descend, and the majority of taste buds have ended... About 4-3" past the teeth...
Technically, a friend told me once, if you can take (whatever) over the roof of your mouth and soft palate without contacting the tongue... Ya should be ok... |

I can quite easily deep throat a large cock (not bragging btw)!
