I know that has happened a few times with friends..even additional incentives. Especially for sellers trading on a very positive reputation. I'd consider doing it depending on the circumstances. |

Do you believe the feed back you gave them to be accurate?
Sellers need a good amount of possitive feedback to be named as a trusted/top seller and the better their rating the higher they are on searchs, point of feed back is that orhers are properly informed of the quality of the items being sold by the seller so to take it back is doing an injustice to other buyers. Also maybe others have thought the same as you and taken it down where you could of bought from a better supplier.
Although if the product met but did not exceed your expectations then no harm in getting it for free |

"Seems fair to me. In fact if you're offered a refund because you're unhappy surely that should result in positive feedback ?
"
I had accepted the item , they offered a refund a month after if I take the feedback off. |

"...... is it normal for people on a well known auction site to offer a refund if you take down a neutral feedback?

Nail on head.....I think the same as you for your middle paragraph.
It was an honest feedback yes but it wasn't a bad one....it just wasn't a glowing one. |

In this case, on the information you've given, I wouldn't take it down. If they had dealt with thefeedback positively in a timely manner, I would be willing to alter my feedback to reflect the whole experience accurately. |

Nope "
Same here i wouldn't.
We have been on there for years and the feed back is for other users to see how honest etc the sellers are.
Same as on here the veris are for people to see that others are real. I know it's not quite the same but you can see where i'm going |

Yeah sorry I should have mentioned that bit in the beginning.
I didn't have any dispute with the seller, I just accepted that the item wasn't that good a quality and as it wasn't expensive kept it as to send it back would have cost me money as did the delivery in the first place.
I did send mail back this morning saying no thanks as I think the feedback should stay, just wondered if this was the norm. |

If they have even neutral reviews it may bar them from gold seller status which brings better transaction fees or on site promotion for free.
They will not be offering you something without it having a higher value to them. |
