I'm thinking about getting sterilised can people tell me what their experiences of this have been! I have read some pretty negative stuff but not sure how common bad things happen. Also anyone have it done that have regretted it??
Thanks |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
They won't do it on the NHS at your age. It sucks I know, but doctors are very iffy about sterilising women younger than menopause because they think our only goal is to have kids. When I asked to get sterilised after I had my daughter the doctor said 'but what if she dies?', as if I'd just replace her like a pair of shoes. |

"Are you thinking having your tubes tied or something more drastic?
Whichever is the least instrusive but most effective really x"
You need to do more research. It's not reading like you know what you want and this will work against you with your age when requesting sterilisation. It's an operation - they are expensive and risky and not to be carried out willy nilly. |

Like lickety said you have to be 100% sure it's what you want...it sounds to me that you are not 100% sure???it's a life changing operation and can have devastating consequences if you are not 100% sure.. |

I got sterilised @ 24 after my forth child. But they don't do it so young nowadays I'm afraid. Simple easy procedure, sore for a few weeks but otherwise its ok. I don't regret it because I was ready |

I had my tubes tied via the NHS 9 years ago I was 31. On the day if the operation both the nurse and surgeon tried to talk me out of it.
They only reason they agreed to do it was when I said I had 2 kids 1 of each sex.
So be prepared for a battle on your hands as you are so young. But if you can justify your reasons it should be ok.
The operation was very straightforward no hassle and is still working. |

Thanks" Had mine done at 27 I had one daughter by then. I did not want children at all. The op was as a day patient through a local private hospital no issues all very straight forward. |

I had mine done at 21 20+ plus years ago i had 3 children by that time. Something i was pushed into by the heath visitor and my mum .
It's something i wished to god i had never had done( wish they had the injections etc they have now)
Found out later i should of had counseling etc before having it done.
If there was something i could give my husband( i remarried) it would be his own flesh and blood
There is only a very small amount of time you can have it reversed if you change your mind. |
