As a kid I got to crawl about in the Lanc, as a chum of my dad's was on the maintenance crew and he pulled some strings. I really enjoyed it
Regarding airshows, I thought I was going to one with work, but it doesn't look like it will be happening. |

I'll probably get to at least one air show this season. I went to Bruntingthorpe earlier in the year and had a great day with my son and Ruby. Hopefully I'll make it to the Rolling Thunder event too. |

Waheyyy Saafend. Born and bred. Man, I miss the Southend air show. It got shit when the Red Arrows dropped out, and then I realised I actually quite enjoyed the historical element when it was too late and I'd moved away. |

Unfortunately its sold out, but no reason not to be in the area and look through the fence
If the planes are in the sky what point is there in looking through a fence on the ground? LOL " because "just Jane " the other Lancaster will be on the ground doing taxi runs as she can't fly yet probly the last chance to get pics of three Lancasters together in my lifetime that's why . |

"We have the Farnborough one about to start, already the planes are here and we sit in the garden to watch them practicing" We lived in Cove,Farnborough, when my husband was in the army, and our bird killing pet cat would hide under the shed for a whole week when the jets started to scream over our house...i think the cat thought the birds mother was out to find him. |

"Theres an air show or something in Ayr in September I think
Will miss leauchars this year
Does lowestoft still have theirs?"
"The Scottish Airshow is to take to the skies above Ayrshire again, after a 22-year absence.
The two-day event will be staged at the Low Green in Ayr, and at Prestwick airport on 6 and 7 September.
The show features World War II aircraft the Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire. Other highlights include the Vulcan bomber, the Blades aerobatic team, and helicopter and parachute displays.
The Saturday airshow on the Low Green will be free.
Admission will be charged to the static display at Prestwick." |

We might go to Wings and Wheels this year at Dunsfold, really want to see both the Lancasters as well as XH558.
Later when the Shoreham and Bournemouth airshows are on we go to Eastney naturist beach and usually both the Lancaster and the Flying Fortress fly along the shoreline between both shows right overhead.

We have one every year in eastbourne.. Apparently it is the largest free airshow held over sea in europe.. To be honest it is a pain in the arse, you cant park anywhere in town, the seafront is heaving and it the weather is alway crap for it. and it goes on for 4 days.. The only things worth watching are the battle of britain memorial flight and the red arrows.. Once you have seen one fast jet flying about you have seen them all...... Or maybe its just us.. Plus i can watch a lot of it from my back garden..... |

I live practically on the flight-path to Leuchars so have seen most airshows there for free. Was also in the RAF and after having been duty marshaller for a few shows I've kind of seen enough of them. |

Was there last year...it's awesome. Usually go around regatta week to Dartmouth/Salcombe but giving it a miss this year and going straight to Bournemouth instead. |
