Kitty is just fine, a little tired of course after her caesarian section.
As the little un is so tiny he is in the special baby unit at present. We will no more tomorrow hopefully. |

Wishing her the best too!
It's always harder emotionally when they are in prem’ unit and you can't easily hold them.
But on the bright side one of my step daughter's was even smaller and he's as strong as an ox now!
Good luck Kitty!

Visited with kitty and baby today, kitty is in very good spirits, arguing with nurses etc lol.
We went along to see baby he is doing very well but is still in the premature unit and will be until he has gained sufficient weight etc.
Kitty is experiencing a few hospital administration related problems but I think it's best we leave her to explain her feelings regarding these difficulties.
She was very pleased to hear again that you guys are thinking of them both, we got a nice card on your behalf wishing her well and signed it - best wishes from all your winking friends.

Kitty and baby are doing fine Rugbycouple.
Alfie had a little emergency yesterday, everything is now under control.
Kitty is obviously feeling all the stresses and strains at the moment but sounded cheerful and happier when we spoke with her this morning.
We will let you know more tomorrow as we are taking kitty out for lunch, and hopefully take her mind off things for an hour or two.

Just returned home after visiting kitty and she is in a fabulous mood. Alfie opened both his eyes for the first time this morning and held kitty's fingers, which she was delighted about.
We headed out for lunch at 2.30pm and were promptly waylaid and forced into a 'little' shopping expedition by a pair of semi tearful eyes, proclaiming "I need shoes!" This expedition rapidly developed into an hour long hike around the ladies and babies wear section, with a surprisingly quick jolly jaunt into the book aisle where kitty selected a few chavy books, totally ignoring my efforts at highlighting the diet section - what can you do huh !lol
We had a lovely pub lunch and sat watching kitty play with her food refusing to eat her carrots as they were the wrong shape ffs!, but she enjoyed her yorkshire pud, ordered vanilla ice cream which she squirted chocolate sauce on and whipped it together like a brickies navvy on a pile of sand and cement! And did not eat one spoonful lol - how chav is that lmao
Kitty has asked us to let you guys know in more detail as to what has been happening since the 8 May.
As I mentioned previously the NHS administration could not offer kitty her local hospital, the only hospital available was some distance away. This was not very suitable and caused problems such as being able to visit Alfie daily etc.
The administration expected kitty to leave the hospital bed and return home as soon as she was able after the birth leaving Alfie behind.
Kitty had the complete opposite view and simply refused to co-operate until a more permanent but temporary solution has been found. At present she has been accommodated in a purpose built family unit for parents with sick babies/children, and very nice it is too.
Alfie has developed a non-specific heart problem, his heart rate drops from the normal 150 beats per minute down to 40 bpm, with the oxygen level remaining normal in his body ? The doctors have assured kitty that this condition is not serious at the moment due to baby being so small but further investigation will be needed when he is older and stronger.
Kitty was asked for permission to transfer Alfie to another hospital that had a specialist cardiac unit - whilst claiming there was no heart condition that warranted the move?? This permission was soon denied by kitty who told the doctor "you only want to free the cot" (they are in high demand). This was confirmed by a consultant who told kitty soon after that she had done the right thing by refusing the move !
While kitty was at Alfies bedside watching baby being attended to, Alfie started bleeding from his mouth and internally. You can imagine the shock and distress this caused in kitty but thankfully Alfie and mother are fine now.
Kitty being a tough little chav handled this little emergency all on her own - she had TattooedUglyGit and us pulling our hair out (Tatt would have but he lost his at birth lol) but thankfully she contacted us in the evening putting us all at ease with the good news.
We will keep you informed when we know more - kitty wants to thank you all again for your kindness and concern.

You tell her that we are all thinking of her and she obviously has a tough little fighter for a son.
My son was under 2lbs when he was born and the only thing that is now wrong with him (15 years later) is selective deafness in his left ear - he can hear me say, "need some money son" clear as bloody day regardless of what ear I whisper it into - he has low range deafness. There's bugger all wrong with him now apart from smelly feet and a tendency to spend my money!
He also had some scarey moments, cardiac arrest and bleeding from the lungs. The only advice I can give her is........ be patient. It does get better and they grow up to be right little bleeders.
Myself and Jason send her all our love and hope that Alfie gets bigger, and better, quickly, just so the poor hospital staff get a break from Kitty being stroppy! lol
Seriously, our prayers are with them all. |

We went and rescued kitty yesterday for the day and dragged her into the countryside where she stood staring in awe at the big green things. After explaining that the big green thing was in fact a moss covered wooden telegraph pole, we pointed out kittys first tree.
She promptly whipped out her flick-knife and carved 'kitty was ere init' - it took some explaining to Windsor castles' head gardener that she really was not a random glue sniffer from the local estate, but an east end chav and bare knuckle fighting champion on a day out from the docks, where she can usually be found on any corner from dusk to dawn.
Our polite attempts to correct kittys misdemeanour where soon put to shame with a swift kick in the bollox from kitty as she legged it past the now knackered gardener screaming 'leggit innit ffs'
After leaving Royal Berkshire at great speed we eventually settled some distance away where we found a quaint little country pub. Well that's what we told kitty, it was actually a Little Chef on the A4! Anyway we had a pleasant civilised lunch leaving kitty scoffing her nicked bread rolls in the bogs.
Kitty was in great spirits all day as she is delighted with Alfies progress as he is now gaining weight and strength.
We all got back to the hospital at 10pm and went to see Alfie, we were allowed a little poke of baby and he gets cuter and hairier by the day lol.
PS we also had to do the baby clothes shopping thing again - yawn yawn yawn. |

this post is also on the chairty event night. thought would post it here as well cos no mny people look at the bottom LOL
hi all.
thanks mad for doing this its a great idea!!!
the place i stayed at was great.
4 days after giving birth the ward i was on wanted to discharge me, they knew i was a long way from home and had a baby in intensive care and was expresing milk for him.
i think i spent a day crying not knowing how i was gonna to cope going all they home and back again everyday while trying to express milk and also wanting to be close to alfie and also 4 days after a c section i dont think is healthy for anyone to be doing daily train trips with out being able to have the rest your ment to.
after hassling the nurses once again they told about about this mc donalds house and said they would see about getting a room for me there, my luck was in there was one avilible.
the house i stayed in was lovley!! the bedroom (it has 8 btw) was ensuite 2 single beds and a pull out bed as well so familys could stay together. it has a fully fitted kitchen and nice playroom for kids and a sitting room and laundry room. it is very nicly decortated, nice and cosy.
familys are told o use this house as a 'home from home'
everything to keep the house running now is all based on donations to the house manger the upkeep and stuff like that.
knowing i was so close to Alfie made me be able to sleep at night i was a 5 min walk from him at all times so it was good to know how close i was in case of emergancy instead of a hour and half train journy.
with out this house i am sure i would have sunk into depression and struggled ever so much.

"this post is also on the chairty event night. thought would post it here as well cos no mny people look at the bottom LOL
hi all.
thanks mad for doing this its a great idea!!!
the place i stayed at was great.
4 days after giving birth the ward i was on wanted to discharge me, they knew i was a long way from home and had a baby in intensive care and was expresing milk for him.
i think i spent a day crying not knowing how i was gonna to cope going all they home and back again everyday while trying to express milk and also wanting to be close to alfie and also 4 days after a c section i dont think is healthy for anyone to be doing daily train trips with out being able to have the rest your ment to.
after hassling the nurses once again they told about about this mc donalds house and said they would see about getting a room for me there, my luck was in there was one avilible.
the house i stayed in was lovley!! the bedroom (it has 8 btw) was ensuite 2 single beds and a pull out bed as well so familys could stay together. it has a fully fitted kitchen and nice playroom for kids and a sitting room and laundry room. it is very nicly decortated, nice and cosy.
familys are told o use this house as a 'home from home'
everything to keep the house running now is all based on donations to the house manger the upkeep and stuff like that.
knowing i was so close to Alfie made me be able to sleep at night i was a 5 min walk from him at all times so it was good to know how close i was in case of emergancy instead of a hour and half train journy.
with out this house i am sure i would have sunk into depression and struggled ever so much.
lucky for me i have made such good friends of here who with out it would have been a very scary and lonley time.
thnks will never be enough to this guys!!

thanks again _adchick!"
They are great places, a friend stayed in one when her child was in Alder Hey in Liverpool and as you say the weight of your shoulders when you don't have to travel miles every day is immense.
We are really glad Alfie is coming closer to you and that he is doing well..it looks like you have some great friends watching out for you
Don't worry though, your charity thread has been sorted by honey, she has a great memory and remembered the party thread was going to be moved to the top of the forums so that is where it is going to go soon.
I am sure with donations and people going there will be a few bob winging its way to the charity.
