Really looking forward to my trip to the UK next week. I am still quite new here, but I have tried to participate as much as I can on this forum. A few interesting conversations, a couple of messages back and forth - gives me hope that I can make some good friends here over time.

I will be visiting a couple of clubs (Abfabs, OP4fun, and possibly Chams) while I am there. Hope to run into some of you - if you see a tall, dark, not-so-handsome guy looking to share a bottle of wine, just say hi to him!

Welcome to England for next week then Colonial Cousin!

If anyone asks if they can bum a fag off you, it's not a strange sexual practice with homosexual down-and-outs (sorry about getting your hopes up) - they wish to borrow a cigarette from you...

I'm sure other forumites may be along with sage words of wisdom (yeah, right) as soon as they wake up

Thanks for that sage advice! I would be a bit more worried if they wanted to fag my bum

Useful tip! Drive on the left, stand on the right

Whilst we do have driving swap over, other than tube escalators, we dont walk only on side of each other, as done in the states. There is not really a convention on walking and passing, apart from politeness. Holding doors for others is appreciated, though a 25 minute wait for them to reach it means you have spent too long at it. Looks like youre getting out of London, which is a good thing. You will find more diversity of friendliness out of the big cities, mainly away from London. Get to benefit from our public transport if you can and consider whether you can manage Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Flights are usually cheaper booked in advance, and Wales is closest so faster on trains or by car etc than the others. You could do Stonehenge on a road trip to Bath and southern Wales. Have fun!

Thanks, Sophie! I was planning to visit Bath and Wales, but had to cut short my trip. Next time, hopefully! I hope to make a few friends on this trip, but more importantly, I view this as just a fantastic opportunity to experience the culture. I do know I can have a very informed debate about Alastair Cook and the English cricket team

Brighton - even Hove!

I hope you have a great time! When you go into a McDonalds in the UK and they say 'do you want to go large on that?' they mean 'do you want me to suck your cock?' so you have to pull your jeans down and get ya cock out

Sure, as long as they put some mustard and mayo on it

Have a great time over here, Im sure you'll have a good time.

My No1 tip is if you fancy dogging, you can see who else is in to it by a little silver fish symbol they have on the back of their cars. Sundays seem to be the day these randy sods are out and about!

Enjoy your stay and Dont Mess With Texas!

Ah, good to know! Unfortunately, I return to the US Sunday morning next week, so silver fish are unlikely to be seen in action!

Enjoy your trip. I have a feeling you'll love it over here. I hope you are greeted with similarly excellent hospitality to that I have received when I've ventured to your shores.

Have fun!
