The Science Museum in London has hosted a speed dating event where the singles wear a paper bag over their heads.
The 60 singles at the event could only impress fellow daters by using their personality, and by writing one fact about themselves on their paper bag.
Scientists aimed to discover if, amid the rise of the selfie and the popularity of dating apps based on appearance, people are becoming increasingly superficial when choosing a date.
Each person had two minutes to talk to each other, and at the end of the night filled in a form to say who they wanted to go on a date with. They then left the venue — without ever finding out what the other people looked like.

I once did speed dating in the dark, was really fun surprisingly! While I didn't meet anyone I clicked with my friend did and arranged a second date. He didn't seem overly impressed, when she went to the loo he left without even saying bye  |

Seriously though, yeah I'd give it a go in the interests of science...I think not being able to see the person's face would be a great leveller and as I like to be able to hold a convo whilst taking a break from rampant sex then it'd give me an idea of whether we'd be compatible in the sack...taking it one step further, maybe it'd be an idea to have a similar event where you couldn't see the person at all as potentially body shape could put some off (like Blind Date, but scientific) |

That is really weird/coincidental as I was talking to a friend on the forum a couple of hours ago and I joked that I was going to do a paper bag picture for my avatar as a joke because so many men don't have face pics (I have a sky remote parody picture too)
I would definitely do it though (the survey that is) |

It was a little flawed though, ok they couldn't see each others faces but the body shape was visible through the eye holes so the fit people would still appear more on peoples want to meet lists. |

One persistent guy who wouldn't take no for an answer agreed to all kind of bags..... Til I got to body bag when he finally took no for an answer

Finally get to meet some of you lot. It'd be exactly the same as it is on here for me.

It might work in the dating world, but it wouldn't work on here!
As a generalisation, swinging has become merely about the physical and isn't interested in anything other than the superficial outer layer and positively embraces the objectification of its participants. |
