I once found a polish builder standing in my fish pond with my seriously miffed dog glaring at him, Silly bugger had jumped over my fence to access next door without looking first.

"Had cockchafers a few years ago
They're some serious beasties "
Just done some googling ....
Apparently there was a royal navy ship called HMS Cockchafer
That would have been embarrassing to serve on that one |

" I love anything like that its normally the moth caterpillars i find in my garden we have a few butterflie species but they come and go
I use another forum which has all the
wildlife you can find in this country
Its about that time of the year when the
bigger moths will be more active like
The hawk moths fast flyers easily attracted to light and then quite vulnerable I have often found them next day ok but completely unaware of their Bearings till its dark again but they lose a lot of energy just in one night
due to food loss. |

"saw the most beautiful moths in Crete, they looked just like tiny hummingbirds, looked it up on the net when I got home and yep they are called hummingbird moths" I saw some of
them in my garden a few years back now on the honeysuckle and they can move fast long travelled migrants it just starts to to get to dark to see them properly here not sure they would put up with a torch. |

Deer, foxes, rabbits, hare, pheasants, rats, mice - not at the same time!
Birds nesting all around the roof and pooing everywhere at the mo.
Probably lots of weird crawly things too but I try to leave those alone. |

It really is a jungle out there, my fecking gardener hasn't been once this year. Gutted!" yes its surpriseing
How fast nature takes over some s I see I never see in neighbouring gardens
And bramble is a Bu**er I usually try
And pick it out with no gloves on the
Young plants that is OUCH never

We have some beautiful moths here, and worth feeding and caring for them. The humming bird ones are great to watch. If you see them they often return to the same spot each day at the same time. Ive had them as regulars on old English lavender amongst other plants. |

Its surpriseing what moths are around through the summer months many go un noticed I remember seeing one it had the
same out line as a vulcan bomber lovely
cryptic markings above it was the wings
Below i could not see but still identified it has a red underwing later on getting
the book out and seeing the red wings With
The black band on the bottom of both
I saw other red underwings later
years you usually see the orange Underwings its funny i can remember seeing something like that years back
and can,t remember something i did 5 minutes back unless its something like
that typical of me.
