Hi all,

Normally I google stuff I need to know but this question was a bit complicated and I got some odd results.

OK, Person A says something to Person B. Person B takes their own interpretation of that, maybe takes some inferences and is then convinced that A actually said the version that their mind has 'enhanced', and even misquotes A.

Any ideas?

its like txt messages you have to sense the tone. spoken words are much the same, tell person b that what you said wasnt infering anything and what you said was meant in a friendly not defensive tone

If I was person A I would tell person B that they have misinterpreted what I had meant & maybe just reiterate my point again.

However person B might already be thinking along those lines about A (for some other reason) so no matter what A says if won't alter B's opinion.

voilla!!

So you ask person C (us) to come up with a solution to you telling B something not clearly enough and it got mixed up, try explaining what you meant more clearly. It might work.

Yes! The idea or conclusion that comes to mind is some people are pretty thick and they easily misinterpret things and don't question the outcome and reevaluate what was said to them.

Oh and congrats on googling most don't which is strange glad to see you have the sense to.
