Anyone else suffering tonight?
Should I try to sleep propped up on the sofa (uncomfortable as a pile of rocks) or stay in bed and try to sleep while coughing my lungs up? Help! I don't get ill usually, I don't know what to do xD |

"open your bedroom window if you haven't already and prop yourself up in bed "
It's open, got a bottle of water and a bottle of cough syrup with a straw in it, and propped up on 1 pillow (all I've got). Any more suggestions? I reckon the whole street can hear me coughing |

"If it's a throaty cough, keep a jar of honey by the bed. If your throat starts to tickle, have a spoon. It also soothes the irritation."

Use some towels rolled-up, or anything similarly soft, that you can use to prop-up under your single pillow to raise it...you definitely don't want to be lying down flat (also try sleeping on your sides instead of your back). And a spoonful of honey in a cup of warm but weak Ribena or similar will also help. If you can get to a 24 hour Tesco or similar, Covonia Throat Spray works brilliantly...it's horrible to take as it sprays into the back of your throat, but its brilliant.
Hope you're better soon. Rich. XX |

My nan used to make up a concoction when we had a cough. Butter sugar and vinegar. Vile stuff, but worked, either that or we were too scared to cough in front of her in case she dosed us up again x |
