You would think that they could think of a different theme to promote awareness, with most people seeming to have an aversion to hair I don't know that its going to be successful which is a shame |

It's because women with pcos have a problem with excess hair so it's to raise awareness |

I know thats a symptom but its one that most women with it hate and do their best to cover up as they feel self conscious about it,it would be the last thing id be wanting to show off if I had a problem with excess hair
I hope they manage to achieve as much awareness as possible |

Errrm maybe i'm ignorant, i do know that pcos causes hair loss, but why does growing a french lady beard support this cause? Are people being sponsored to do this? |

Pcos doesn't always cause excess hair either. It's a symptom of it but not all sufferers have it. The same as not all sufferers have weight gain from it etc etc. I am a pcos sufferer but my main symptom is horrendous pain and fertility issues (lost a tube through a ectopic because of it) I really think the campaign is ridiculous.
But nope won't be growing my armpit hair- urgh!! |

It causes excess body hair so it's trying to show support or something |

My ex used to brush her hair and take out clumps everytime, i always thought that was the main external symptom. The main internal ones being hormonal in balance and the failure to release an egg, which is where the pain comes from. I think.
I guess it is varied in it's syptoms.
This campaign feels like another fail show from the hashtag generation. |

I have two family members who have it. It has quite a number of possible side effects. Distressing ones and embarrassing ones as well as some dangerous effects related to conception including fertility issues. The symptoms are different for each if them. |

"August is the month to grow your armpit beards ladies
It's for awareness of women with pcos
Anyone gonna do it ?
(I'm not )"
Not a hope in heck. It would irritate and give me a rash for one! |

Unless you went around in a vest top proclaiming 'I'm growing my armpit hair to raise awareness for PCOS sufferers' most people would just see the wookies peeking out from your pits and think 'eeuuww'
Nope - not for me thanks. |

Another PCOS lady here, and not a chance would I grow my underarm hair.
I'm very fortunate that excess hair isn't a symptom for me. My pain comes from the fun of having endometriosis too, I got the double whammy (lucky me ) My son was fertility treatment. Weight gain was a horrible side effect for me - I was a size 24/26 for a long time, until I decided to put serious work in to change it. 17 stone loss over 4 years (and maintained for 18 months now) has made a huge difference. |

Wow you did amazing to lose that while being a sufferer of pcos! Has it lessened your symptoms as I've heard it does? I have lost a but over a few years but around another 8 stone to get to where I want to be and I think I do use my pcos as a excuse a but though x |

Its definitely lessened my symptoms. MAde such a difference to my whole life.
Yeah, I used my PCOS as an excuse, but a lot of it was poor choices, overeating (a lot of comfort eating) and not taking responsibility.
Now drink more water, eat less food, and move more - I'm a bit of a gym bunny now, and do mud challenge obstacle races for fun lol |

A bit of hair certainly does not scare me (mr ME), I think hairy armpits and a hairy pussy can be sexy on some women (not all). Mrs ME prefers no armpit or pussy hair on women.
On a recent trip to France we went to MoonCity, a swingers club/spa and came across something quite unusual in our eyes. A french girl there had hairy armpits and a shaved pussy. It was the first time I came across a "hybrid". Usually women that shave their pussy will also shave their armpits.
It's certainly one of the things I love about the lifestyle, you come across all sorts because people have the liberty to do as they please without having to conform. |
