Underground, overground, wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folks leave behind.
Uncle Bulgaria,
He can remember the days when he wasn? behind the times,
With his map of the world.
Pick up the papers and take them to Tobermory!
Wombles are organised, work as a team.
Wombles are tidy and Wombles are clean.
Underground, overground, wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we!
People don't notice us, they never see,
Under their noses a Womble may be.
We womble by night and we womble by day,
Looking for litter to trundle away.
We're so incredibly, utterly devious
Making the most of everything.
Even bottles and tins.
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new,
Is what we do!
Underground, overground, wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folks leave behind.

I would like Andy Murray to win, in fact I hope he does, but feel he isn't quite good enough, well not while Nadal and Federa are playing like they are in the majors |

I think most of the English will route for the Scott Murry. Is it odd? No not really after all they are our neighbors hand have fought side by side with us over the last few hundred years. Me well i hope Murry wins it as the lad has a bit of steel and guts and he is a good role model to all of the UK. |

yeah thats true but the public don't have to sit on their arses - they can get up and do it...for themselves...
it may be difficult but using lifes disasters and channeling it to yourself to giver yourself some challenges is what its all about...

In a word: shite
It tickles me the amount of members who have it on their profile stating they'll prosecute if their privacy is breached, given the majority of pics viewable cannot identify the member!! |

Hell of a lot more difficult to rig a whole tournament though than 1 person playing snooker against another - Higgins seemingly did it to allow others to bet on individual snooker matches he was playing in and not the whole snooker tournament! |

i guess it's the configurations that will be set by the computer admins which lets them know who will be accessing what from each profile. |

maybe not but it all adds up. when u got the impetus to do something u always want to take it forward just a little bit more. who knows if he hadn't been caught!!!!
It wold take a lot of balls for someone to rig a whole tournament woudn't it. let me think which personalities in sport would this apply too |

You can't rig a whole tournament of snooker, tennis, etc, etc - it would take all of the players, the governing bodies, etc, etc to be involved in the rigging of it too!
Some people do it purely out of self greed but they always get found out in the end!

just because it woud take doesn't mean its any less plausible or bound to happen. look at the manipulation of government ppl. it would be nieve to say that it couldn't happen in sport. when sport is not as functional as the government is supposed to be.. |

OK -If you say so!
I will wait for all the arrests to happen when just one of the honest sportsmen/women are asked to help rig a whole tournament and think their reputation is worth more than a backhander and report what they have been asked to do!
Sorry, no offence meant, but like has been said above you haven't thought this through! |

Some form of rigging for betting happens in most sports I'm sure, ie. betting that something will happen at a certain time - this takes to co - operation of the sports person or ref but to rig an entire tournament? Nah, don't think so because surely everyone would have to be in on it! Z |

i agree
but
money generated by the fans always keeps the opputunity open to compromise some aspect of the game... |

That will be why tournament organisers would never rig a whole tournament, do you really think the majority of fans would be going to watch matches that they knew were rigged (wrestling aside but thats the fun of wresting to some!) and the outcome had already been decided? |

c'mon
that footballer terry - the twat. Now the fans complain that footballers get paid way to much.
Now what could be done. The fans don't need to turn up at any of the games. Thats what they calling sacrificing your sport to prove a point. that would stop terry and would probably ask himself the same question as that Danny dyer will be asking, "gee, nobody likes by behaviour i better stop" |

One person being labbled a "twat" isn't the same as what you suggested i.e. a whole tournament being rigged and the outcome already decided!
Will leave it there as we are getting into football territory which holds no interest for me!
If you had used a Rugby analogy it might have held my interest a little bit longer |
