Some cool but obscure bands and artists on Friday night. Sadly I was not quite with it at the time so all I remember is Alice Russell...! Lol

So you get one artist ir band pick that you'd play for others on this thread that you think we may not have heard, name who you'd play and let's share some new music!

I'm going to go for Sufjan Stevens and his album Illinois...

I've got some Sufjan somewhere; I shall dig it out for my iPod and walk to work on Monday. Recently I've been listening to Glynnaestra by Grumbling Fur and Pain is Beauty by Chelsea Wolfe a lot. I Never Learn by Lykke Li is a new grower although Wounded Rhymes is still my favourite of hers.

I've recently discovered The Beef Seeds, they do fun, country/bluegrass covers of well known songs, so I'd definitely play their stuff for people.

I love those guys. Their cover of Highway to Hell with Steve Vai is brilliant. Their straight classical stuff is superb too.

Bit off but we recently heard DixieMix (a jazz band) who were the warm up for Rod Stewart & they were awesome... Don't know if they've released anything yet so do they count?
