How often do you exfoliate? Im a couple of times a week girl, but am trying some new daily stuff. Ive also read of the problems many of them have caused, with micro beads of plastic, the scrubber, ending up inside wildlife. I prefer natural scrubs, but have had beady ones. Anyone made their own? |

"Not used that one femme, will look it up. Think sun dried skin in summer for me means theres more dead stuff to get off. " Its quite abrasive, hence I only use it once a week, then use their body butter..leaves your skin lovely xx

a handful of rock salt in olive oil makes a good exfoliator according to our daughter but I swear by No 7 microdermabrasion exfoliator, there's one for your face and one for your body. Failing that a handful of brick dust mixed with axle grease does the trick |

Sugar or salt in almond oil is great.
Recipe below for sugar scrub, scent it if you wish with lavender or citrus essential oils. Used to use Lush but make my own now. (sweeteners for my coffee and not sugar)
Use 2 parts sugar (regular white or brown sugar work great) to 1 part oil (almond, olive and coconut are great), add 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil (or the gel from a few capsules), add other optional ingredients such as essential oils for a nice smell or peppermint oil which is good for tired feet, and mix well. |

Hello qualified beauty therapist at your service.
Dead sea salt scrub is amazing and only once a week. If you want to make your own oatmeal scrub I would suggest you blitz it into a finer powder and simply add some rose water. Put on face until dry and then remove with hot face cloth. The oatmeal will clean and exfoliate while the rose water softens. Then use a cooling toner followed by a hydrating moisturiser.

"Soap and glory is brilliant and on offer in boots at the moment.....scrub your nose in it is excellent
Bio oil is gret for dry skin too,... "
Rescue oil from pound land is just as good as bio oil and sooooo much cheaper. Used it on my stretch marks and a scar on my face.
Damn great stuff |

" Skin cells are shed all the time from our bodies, but exfoliation helps remove them quicker than waiting for them to fall off. On our faces skin can seem duller and drier when there is a build up of older skin. Ive the St Ives products in use, but bought some daily use ones recently. I find them especially good in winter, when my skin dries with all the central heating etc - after use, skin is lovely and soft. |

It doesnt really speed it up.
The purpose of exfoliation is to remove the dead skin from the surface and to encourage circulation. |

"I make my own - 2 parts salt / ground almonds / sugar to 1 part grape seed oil. I then add a couple of drops of lemon / lavender essential oil "
I like using jojoba oil, avocado oil, a drop of vitamin E oil, a drop of lavender essential oil and granulated sugar to exfoliate.
Jojoba and avocado oil can be replaced by grape seed or virgin olive oil.

I will have to give it a go and see if i notice a difference.
I have been sold all sorts at the beauty counters and never use them. I end up throwing them away.
I remember a lady at the clarins counter being quite shocked when I said I don't cleanse tone and moisturise. Lol!
I wash, shave, deodorize..make up. That's it. |

I exfoliate my face around once a week and body twice. Love champneys and soap and glory.
Used to just use face wipes but now I've hit 30 noticed my skin is more dull etc so started to cleanse tone and moisturise. But I only use a day cream day and night should I use a night cream? Wonder if it will be too much for my skin |

Personally I use the same night and day, I don't buy expensive moisturisers at the monet I'm using a newish one from Superdrugs own range and I often use Aldi £1.99 Q10 moisturiser.
I swear by twice weekly exfoliation with No 7 microdermabrasion exfoliator, followed by a moisturising face mask and daily moisturising. I find night creams too heavy and inclined to make my skin greasy. |

I would recommend a night cream in your 30's just make sure you have an age appropriate one.
Don't know what products you usually use but I like the No7 Protect & Perfect range ~ good product for a medium price tag. x |

I just use simple at the moment to be fair I have never used anything and I'm lucky as my mum is in her 60's and got amazing skin so hoping to take after her. But feel I must do something before it's too late. I'll have a look at the also products they sound good. My skin is still kind of teenager like- oily t zone and I get a spotty chin when Mother Nature visits and the rest is just normal so worried about loading creams on to oily skin |

I have very oily skin I never use moisturiser on my forehead for that reason, it'd be like a chip pan by 10:30 am . I use Lush Angels on Bare Skin as a cleanser, it helps with the oilyness. |

Im also not one for special night creams, just using day stuff all the time. We seem to have 4 main lots of stuff we all mainly use - soap and glory, sanctuary, aldi and home mixed with a range of ingredients. I am a bit concerned about any scrubs that have plastic beads in them, as they are being ingested by wildlife - not us - and its causing a few problems. I do love adding masks alot too, as a few of you have also liked doing. I still have a poor T zone, and masks seem to help me. |

Porridge oats. Old tights, hang them under the tap while you run the water. You can use them as a scrub as well. Thought I'd throw that into the mix but I'm more of a shower than bath girl so don't do it very often. |

Olay do a lovely night cream that us very light and silky.
Our nody repairs itself at night which is why night cream is recommended as it contains different ingredients.
Scientific studies have proven that some cheaper stuff can be just as effect as expensive stuff. |
