I work in the building trade and over the years have got to work in a lot of really old derelict listed buildings. Some of them dated back hundreds of years. A few times been working in these type of buildings and the room has gone icy cold and you get a really strange sensation someone is there watching you. Can tell you it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Never actually saw anything but that was really spooky, just worked a lot quicker than normal, really wanted to get the fook outta there. |

A lot of stuff used to happen in my Dad's old house. - Footsteps down the hallway, doors would open and close with no draft, you'd forever see shadows moving about out of the corner of your eye and when his Granddaughter was a baby, she would sit out in the hallway and talk and gargle at something near the front door. The dog used to do some strange things as well.
I used to move about a lot during the night as I thought I kept dreaming that this young soldier was coming into my bedroom and kept talking to me and was keeping me awake. - In my semi-conscious state, I would pick up my blanket and move elsewhere, rather than be alarmed at the fact that there was a strange man in my room.
Logic would dictate that it WAS a reoccurring dream but it only ever happened in THAT house.
Never did anyone any harm though.

I don't believe in ghosts. However, I did have a strange experience in a club recently. I was in the gloryhole area, doing what I do second best (the first is irritate) and it really felt like someone was present with me on my side of the wood work. I could feel the mattress I was kneeling on indenting as if someone was moving about. I fair wanted to turn round to look, but couldn't as I was busy.
I mentioned it to my friend who works there and she said that a few people have felt things down that end of the club. |

I'll start: A young girl is playing in her bedroom when she hears her mother call to her from the kitchen, so she runs downstairs to meet her mother. As she's running through the hallway, the door to the cupboard under the stairs opens, and a hand reaches out and pulls her in. It's her mother. She whispers to the child, "Don't go into the kitchen. I heard it too."

I remember a friend of mine posting a pic on facebook of the reflection of a little boy in her silver kettle... She had seen it (or so she thought) so took the pic to check... and it was still there... She has no kids or neighbours kids who may have wandered in... and there was no-one there when she turned around..
She was terrified and wouldn't go back into her house...
Later a couple of us went to her house with her..... and realised the "ghost child" that jad terrified her was a pic on a cereal box next to the kettle reflected on it |

Generic spooky tales are one thing, reality is something else. It's electric when you really DO bump into your mother, standing frozen and wide-eyed in the hall, looking down the stairs, as you bowl down to answer her call. You know you heard it, you know she heard it, but she just won't admit it, no matter how much you push her. You hear every little creak in the house that night, I assure you... |

my old flat when i was 18 was the best for being haunted the gas knobs on the cooker use to turn on by themselves one time my ex hubby and i sat and saw them turn, we'd go out and come back to the house smelling.of gas of we were out on a evening. Once when my hubby put his feet on the coffee table a voice said "NO" and forced his feet off the table and it elevated slightly and shook, he also claimed to see a black shadowy victorian style lady walk acroos the bedroom and the cold tap in the sink in the bathroom used to turn on too. there used to be an ice cild chill under the loft hatch
this stuff used to fascinate him so he hired paranormal investigators they found some great footage and recordings that ive still got today and freak people out with. The caught a womans voice humin a tune similar to ring a ring a rosie, caught the gas knobs turning on film and the tv turning on and off by itself |

Our house was always haunted to varying degrees and there were a lot of really chilling experiences.
It ranged from feeling a cold hand press against your back when you were alone in a room (even with your back to a radiator) to the sound of footsteps around the upstairs when nobody else was in the house. My brother had a knife fly at him in the kitchen and my bedroom door used to burst open.
There were other things that were also dream related and caused me a lot of sleeplessness, until I finally had this one dream that we had a black and white cat that could see monsters in the closet and used to fight with them.
Three years ago, we ended up being offered a cat to look after, a black and white one. It has a fixation with that closet for sure, but we don't get anything more than the odd bump in the night now. |

Told there I believed in and thou I,m a
Believer I have never seen a ghost but
Have felt the paranormal, There was a story during the period I worked there
And other storys but this particular Story was more related to your type but
More scary, two guys had gone to do these old offices up which were tucked
Away out of sight in this old building
And when their manager went up this
Staircase to where they were they both
Downed tools and flew down the staircase
Past him saying they were not going back
Up there as there was a angry little Bloke going around them while they were up there and the job did get left in the end years ago I think there had been a suicide. |

I won,t go on and mention all the hauntings seen on the site I worked
here but will mention them other times
on this post, but would like To mention
This one, in one building in the early
Morning one of the cleaning staff had
Been speaking to this friendly guy
Who was dressed up something similar
To a fireman It was only later on after
The ladie cleaner mentioned this guy
And pointed him out in how he looked
And how friendly he was that they told
Her who he was as some shock or surprise
To her he was known their before he had
served there during the last war and Being a fireman had been dealing with a
Chemical fire there there was an explosion which killed him and now
he visits periodically this building
knowing the circumstances and perhaps
witnessing him will obviously make you
scared but to see him and for him to
chat back untroubled you would be
priviledged indeed thou not something
I could get used to even if he was friendly one good greeting from him
As a pat on the back or similar and
I,d probabily pass out with fear or
Freeze solid. |

My old family house has a poltergeist...she (we decided she was female after she started playing up when we replaced old windows, one of which had the name Ethel etched on it and this was also mentioned by a spiritualist we had visit who said that a servant called Ethel died in the house at the beginning of the 1900s) she used to move things around and we've loads of stories about that, plus she had certain times of the day that she'd be heard moving around upstairs when there's no one around....one friend of mine would no longer come into the house when there was no one in (it's an Arse End thing, knock and enter without getting an acknowledgement) after he came in and sat waiting for someone to come downstairs cos he could hear movement upstairs - I came home and he asked who was upstairs, I said no one and took him upstairs to check and he went white! |

"I really shouldn't watch ghost stories alone I'm now a bit scared "
as a person that likes to watch them or read about them ive seen a fair share of them and dont tend to jump much but a few have caught me out and i do jump badly
as goes for the other person im sorry but its pure sport making you jump out of your skin and so worth the beatings after for it
ive also had many a cinema in stitches for making people jump and what ever it is you just get one person to jump while watching a film followed by a scream always makes other cinema goers scream out
and im always sat there |

"My childhood home was haunted it was bizarre but she only used to annoy my dad lol " Yes so was my home I felt
The presence in my bedroom a number of Times when I was a youngster but my mum
Never mentioned to me till years later
After leaveing there that she would often
Be sitting in the lounge and hear someone
Presumably an old man who had lived there
Previously who had a limp and this is What
my mum could hear someone with a limp
walk along the hall way and go up the
Stairs most certainly then into my room
Was perhaps his once I could almost feel
His hands on my back at times I used to
Soak the sheets in sweat but all he wanted was my company there he never
Caused any mischief. |

I don't believe in ghosts but the first flat me and Mrs KL lived in we used to have the TV randomly turning itself up. Things would go missing and then turn up in places we'd previously checked. The cupboards would be open when we were sure they'd been closed. We used to joke about a friendly poltergeist. |
