The problem is that someone thought it appropriate to video it and post it to the world.

Sex games like that used to happen a lot in a lot of places, and they were actually great fun, but having it follow you home and haunt the rest of your life is a bad thing, and the person who posted the video should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for the harm done.

I kind of agree with this. Nothing we do or say can be relied on to remain in that moment or location any longer. I did some things as a young woman that were a lot of fun but I wouldn't do them now and I wouldn't particularly want members of my family current, past, present or future knowing I'd done them. However this is of the current generation and we should all be aware that there is no such thing as entitlement to privacy or discretion

Yes why shouldn't it be illegal? if a person is recognisable in your photo then either don't share it with the world or edit it to disguise them first.

As to full extent of the law lets say a civil case based on the premise that she will now not get that university course that would make her a barrister so her life long earnings at that level is owed... Would make people a bit more discrete if a few heavy sentences were passed down.

My opinion is that it is not ludicrous, The action of the girl in the video was a harmless bit of fun that caused no harm to anyone, and consent was given by each of them men involved, so no harm no liability.

The ACTION of posting the video was a malicious, and life long assault on the girl by whoever posted it so why shouldn't they face the CONSEQUENCES?

Those that have profited from sex tapes they have released themselves are not a problem, they profited from it, in a few cases where tapes have been released by ex partners or stolen and released people are in jail for doing that let alone facing financial penalties.

Sadly in this world we live in most would not notice the poster, they would think the men involved were "just being lads" and reserve the moral indignation for the woman.

If someone was to take your photo in a club, in a pleasant and perfectly normal sexual act with a couple of blokes and maybe another woman for good measure. Post it on Twitbook, then it goes viral and your employer decides you are no longer a good representative of the company so you lose your job, would you still say the poster should have the freedom to post the pictures?

Really? I doubt the incentive of getting free Cava was what was really going on. I've seen similar in clubs and no one was complaining.

One of the reasons I don't go out to 'vanilla' clubs is that I find the assumption that my body is fair game both annoying and threatening. I also find the casual nature of people filming sex acts without permission makes me angry.

I do think alcohol useage and expectations of sex have skewed what happens where but as I go to sex cubs I'm probably dirt too.

Women should not be expected, by anyone, to behave differently to men in order to be respected.

Respect should be an automatic thing, not something tied to being virginal!

And don't forget, without men wanting this sort of thing and being willing to participate, it wouldn't happen.

Men, (since we're generalising about the difference in behaviour between the sexes), don't seem concerned about being disrespected for this sort of behaviour. Why should women be?

the person(s) posting it around are to blame

if the girl was d*unk,the guys were d*unk..most likely as thats why people go to these pubs OBVIOUSLY!...

maybe there are other videos..but someone has seen sense and decided posting it is pretty immoral...despite people thinking its immoral what "she" done.

Yeah and look how women have to live to earn that so called respect, couldn't vote, got paid less wages if they did work, most was expect to stay at home and look after the kids, cook, clean, have dinner ready for their man, didn't have a say, oh yeah the good old days, how I long for the respect of a man

Quite, the concept of "respect" was used as a tool of enslavement, control and servitude. I'd rather be disrespected and free, thanks.

Actually they didn't really respect women more anyway. Men were still the same, they just _xpressed it differently and bothered to pretend when it got them what they wanted.

I said not so long ago that it amazes me that men (and even more so that women) are so disparaging of and rude about that which they pursue so desperately and doggedly.
