What's the bravest thing you have done?

I am putting complete trust in my husband at the moment and have agreed to move into a house that I haven't seen. He see the house over a year ago and even then come home and said I would love it. Got then phone call last week saying it is ours if we want it and can move in this month!
I can't help but feel I'm either being very brave or very stupid.
Add into that there isn't really much we can pack away before our holiday and our move date is 3 days after we return I'm going with stupid lol
So.. have you ever done anything you wouldnt normally dream of doing and did it turn out OK? |

I have actually just taken a blind leap of faith which annoyingly I can't really discuss at the moment. Brave? Possibly, exciting yes, scary most definitely. No idea how it will turn out.
Bravery where I've put myself on the line for someone else? Never had the opportunity.

I jumped into the canal once after my dog, I just want to add I can't swim, luckily the water didn't even come to my waste but I didn't know that at the time, I have no idea what my plan was once I was in, I just thought this is either going to work or we'll die together  |

I was caught-up in a life threatening situation where I showed reckless abandon towards my personal safety ....
So although some people interpreted those actions as brave the truth is my behaviour was less about bravery and more about trying to do the right thing for the right reasons...

I think that probably IS bravery. I sometimes voice an opinion in meetings or situations where I feel someone is unfairly at a disadvantage, that is at odds with what everyone else is saying, someone called that brave. It isn't in my opinion.
Someone once said I was brave in my choice if clothes.....I think they were pretty brave to say that lol  |

When we first brought our first son home within 24 hours I had rang for an ambulance because I really thought something was wrong with him. He wouldnt stop crying, in true newborn fashion by the time they arrived he was fast asleep. All it was was wind! I felt so stupid! |

I'm not sure.
However, I did have a decision to make a few weeks ago that would have involved me going on television as Tina, but would have ran the risk of outing me to a everyone if I had been recognised through voice, humour or general demeanour.

leaving the ex after he turned on me physically in front of the kids - bravest it felt at the time but looking back was the obvious thing to do just i didnt know it as he had screwed my head up so much - much much happier place now x |

I look back on my "bravest moment" and cringe. I was incredibly stupid and in a drug induced bravado. After a night 6 years ago on Columbia's biggest export the buildings fire alarm went off. Being the idiot I was I ran to the fire panel to see which flat was in fire and ran towards it, burst through the door and was greeted by the sight of a group of very well dressed heroine users smacked out their tree and the kitchen fully ablaze. One of the group was someone which I recognised from a quite famous Scottish band. As I tried to get them out the fire brigade arrived. And my eye balls were like flying saucers. I never touched a drug after that night. Totally reckless, stupid and idiotically brave. |

I don't think I've done anything I'd consider brave...setting up my own business took a bit of courage to trust myself to make it work. I was pretty scared but did it anyway and on the whole it's worked out fine for 18 years. But bravery...don't think I've needed to dig deep enough to _iew any of my actions as brave. Cowardly...yes sadly I can admit to behaving in a cowardly manner |

I've done a few brave things but the one that sticks out is leaving Ireland at 18 and moving to Belgium, a month before Christmas. |

whilst I would applaud what you did and think its something which a lot more of society should be trained in I don't see it as brave..

There was an earthquake and I had to catch a falling tree to save a pregnant lady. The shock sent her into labour so I had to deliver the baby and then carry them both to the hospital as a flash flood disabled all emergency vehicles.  |

I gave birth to a 9lb 4oz babywith a big head (according to the midwives), with no pethidine or gas and air. My ex asked what was wrong at one point. I laugh about it now |

Don't know if its brave, but I'm proud of it - I did a round of egg donation to help infertile couples.
A month of fertility drugs, and then some very painful retrieval procedure, all for someone I don't even know.
They got enough eggs to help 3 sets of couples. |

ok Armagh wasn't that bad was in country the month leading up to peace agreement plus 5 month the other side.. Weird atmosphere..
Bosnia was horrible.. UN peacekeepers.. All I will say on that..
Gulf War was boring for most part but my job when the surrender had been agreed was to clear the Basra road from that had been bombed by the yanks we used the spade on the front of our craav (Challenger recovery armamerd vehicle)to clear the burnt out wrecks.. |

I made my choice of uni based on pure speculation (not sure if that's brave or stupid) at a time when students do ridiculous research and go on open days. Especially for something that's going to put them in thousands of pounds of debt

I tend to do stupid and trying to be brave isnt me. I often speak up for others if they are intimidated or downtrodden. I spent time with my uncle as he died alone with me, and this just seemed right at the time, but would scare me otherwise, as a big thing to handle. |

This was my thread
Not been here long but looking for somewhere new!
We knew the house had a few issues but didn't know it ran as deep as it did.
Out of 3 bedrooms we can use one! My son is ill because his room is damp from a leaky roof. The ceiling in my bedroom is currently being held up by wallpaper! My kitchen I can use one cupboard as the rest are damp! I dont think there is a room without a problem 
This time I was just plain stupid in thinking something would work out OK |

a few years ago a young chav over took me on a blind bend and hit an old mans car head on. the old w man had a lot of stuff in the back of his car (landscaping stuff) it had flew forwad and hit the back of his seat and pinned him to the dash ans stering wheel. next thing the smoke that was coming out of the bonnet turned to flames and before i new it the full front of the car was on fire so after trying to free the man from the car with no look and the fire getting closer i ran into a field and pulled out a fence post and used it to prize his seat back and pull him out of the car. within 5 min the whole car was in flames it had totaly gone by the time the fire truck and police got there. was not a good day i will never forget the poor man begging me to help him when he seen the fire coming over the windscreen. |

yes i got him free and yes it was. there was lots of people there to and knowone helped me witch pissed me ofc everyone there could see what was happening and must have known that if he didnt get out the car fast he would have burnt alive in his car but they all just stood there and did nothing made me feel sick |

On a night out in town going to the kebab house walking down a short cut alley way I saw a man beating his wife. I knew the couple personally and gave him a taste of his own medicine. The 2 of us both got arrested but I was released with no charge the next morning. He was charged and served time. I'm now godfather to the womans young daughter with her new man |
