All the best professionals have been knocked out by the underdogs this year so no surprise to hear Andy is out too.
A lot of them live on previous titles but forget the up & coming new players are no different in their playing standards.

I have a saying which goes a little something like this (no I dont tend to rap it).
'If its not fucked don't fix it' - Now, with that in mind, why did he part company with his coach and employ a new one.
Anyone know? |

I think theres a few reasons for the split with Lendl;
Lendl wants to play more on the seniors tour and has a number of business interests that take up his time as well.
Murray has a pragmatic approach to coaches, he tends to appoint a coach in order to deal with specific issues and then move on.
Theres also a journalist called Hodgkinson (i think) who was allowed to travel with the Murray camp, he says it was Lendl who chose to go because winning Wimbledon would always be the highlight of their collaboration. |

Probably the best tennis 'British' tennis player we have seen in over 100 years and yet so many people on here want to slate him. Gold in Olympics and won Wimbledon last year but hey he is Scottish lets be nasty. Speaks volumes about some of you. |

Even in the increasingly unlikely event of separation, Murray will be Scottish. He can't be anything else. |

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who cant leave a thread like this to be about sporting rivalry and banter, instead they try to politicise it.

"The thread title indicates a political aspect to the discussion."
does it bollocks, it simply indicates its about Andy Murray being Scottish nothing more, only those who seek to agitate try to make being Scottish a political statement. |

Come on! Think about it! England haven't won since 1966 and you lot still go on about it! And yes Us Scots do get sick and tired about hearing the same old shite (seeing as we were the first team to beat you) don't quote me though as I hate football!, I'm sure you must also! I wouldn't take that as being proud to not be British! Grow up! |

He did say on record that he did'nt like the Alex Salmond flag waving stunt, fair play to him for saying that. Many people don't like him but he does have a lot of support in England, he won sports personality of the year up against many English competitors. |

the whole "anyone but England" thing was blown out of proportion by the media (they like to build folk up just to tear them down again) they usually forget to mention the context, just before that press conference Tim Henman had been giving Murray a ribbing about the state of Scottish football and some of the journalists joined in, Murray expected it to be taken as banter, just as he had done.
Ps. He lives in England, has an English girlfriend and an English best mate, doesnt sound like someone who dislikes all things England.
Maybe give the guy a break. |

I think it was the Andrew Marr show, he later explained that it wasnt the waving of the flag he didnt like, it was all nonsense that the media and politicians stirred up around it, i believe he said later that he found the media/political behaviour to be disgusting.
Andy Murray has gone on record as having very little knowledge of politics and very little interest but the media and politicians keep trying to drag him into their circus, everyone should respect his position and just leave him be.

Murray has refuted a lot of the quotes about the flag waving stuff, saying he has been misquoted and/or misinterpreted, and refused to answer a BBC inter_iewer on the subject last week as a result of that.
I saw him say it himself in an inter_iew on telly not long after it happened. The inter_iewer asked him direct..."What did you think of Alex Salmond waving the Scottish flag behind David Cameron when you won wimbledon?"
Andy Murray replied...."I did'nt like it".
Sorry i forgot which channel and programme it was on, can't remember, but was sometime last year? Personally speaking as an englishman i like Andy Murray and always support him.
Eck was happy to drag Murray into it till he realised Murray isn't a Yes man.
like i said _nny, EVERYONE should respect his position and just leave him alone.
Fuck me but someday you might understand that the word EVERYONE is all inclusive, not all of us feel the need to take a side and behave in a partisan manner."
Just as the Cybernats respect JK Rowling's position? |

wtf is your problem _nny, if you want to debate or discuss my comments with me then go ahead.
However i cannot get my head around your malfunction, i am not responsible for the words or actions of anyone else.
and as expected you cant help yourself, a thread about a tennis player and your contributions are about Alex Salmond and cybernats, your boring the tits off EVERYONE (remember that word, i explained it to you already) sad little man. |

"I have a saying which goes a little something like this (no I dont tend to rap it).
'If its not fucked don't fix it' - Now, with that in mind, why did he part company with his coach and employ a new one.
Anyone know?
I think theres a few reasons for the split with Lendl;
Lendl wants to play more on the seniors tour and has a number of business interests that take up his time as well.
Murray has a pragmatic approach to coaches, he tends to appoint a coach in order to deal with specific issues and then move on.
Theres also a journalist called Hodgkinson (i think) who was allowed to travel with the Murray camp, he says it was Lendl who chose to go because winning Wimbledon would always be the highlight of their collaboration."
Ahh ok thanks mate, makes sence to me.
This thread didnt half turn all serious, we were talking threesomes with sheep when I had left it last time. |

It says a lot about him when asked in a inter_iew eight years ago who do you want to win the world cup. His replay was (with him wearing a Paraguayan shirt) "anybody but England"
That statement alone shows you how British he is, not! |

Do you want Scotland , wales or Northern Ireland to win everytime they play ? It's called rivalry. It's what makes sport interesting. Why would a jock want England to win ? It doesn't make him any less British.
I didn't really like him before but when he came out with the anybody but England statement I respected him a lot more. It shows he knows what rivalry in sport is all about.
Why did it upset you so much ? |

I agree with most of what you have said. Rivalry amongst the home countries is great sport, jokes etc. From my personal _iew of things (my personal _iew) when all else fails as England normally do. I lean towards one of the home countries. That to me is been part of Britain.
If Scotland was playing Russia i would be proud to say been English i would be supporting Scotland.

If Tim has a great grandfather that came from Paraguay, then all bets are off
I think you meant Andy Tim is the English ex player.
lol alright smartie pants a man can dream cant he lol
oh no, mr man if your dreaming about Andy Murray i would seek professional help
its bad enough when the welsh want to finger Judy "
Then again, that's a Welshman for you lol |

not probably he is the best british tennis player these isles have ever seen, its just a shame some people cannot accept that he is also a proud scot, there is nothing wrong with that, from a very proud englishman unlucky there is always the US Open."

Andy's Brother; Jamie, is playing mixed doubles (currently).
Off the top of your head (tennis fans), does Andy usually out last Jamie at Wimbledon?
Can imagine the fun and excitment of the banter between these two if the lesser known is anything like his more famous Brother. |
