VHS

Not even the charity shops will take them as the don't sell, I have 12 large boxes totaling over 300 master tapes of various films, all heading for the skip.

Charity shops WILL take them if its a Disney title or something that's collectable. If its a nondescript movie than its the same what ever format no one wants it.

my dad gave me 2 carrier bags full of tapes last time we visited , and i never had the heart to refuse

we managed to leave a bag each in the toilets when we changed trains at haywards heath

someone either had a good find , or it caused a bomb scare !

got loads of vinyl from my DJing days, they will never go, for one the sound quality is far better than digital, I still play records at home, OK, I got a new turntable that plays through my Mac but still getting played all the same, I gave away an Aiwa stack system, it was huge, 5 separate units, massive speakers, and very very loud, was in perfect condition and still in its original boxes, was great to use but just took up too much space when we moved to the new house so it never came out of its box, at least thats gone to a good home.

why don't you get them transferred to compact disc, there's loads of stuff on the market to allow this to be done, and the format allows it to be played on any DVD player too, i've done this with many old VHS movies

If I had a pound for every time I heard that!! lol

Only a few die hards or wanna be cool converts are really interested in new vynil! Our mate in a local "specialist" record shop has a few bits, but only does it to special order now.
