There was talk some time ago about a Brum meet up. However nobody organised anything, or at least i don't think they did.

Maybe someone should take the initiative?

"Xtasia FFFF (Fab Friends Free Fun) is on in September - thread in clubs section"

From what i gather , single guys are not allowed to this on the saturday. A bit strange as its a social and single guys were allowed to the FFFF social nights on saturdays in the past?

On top of this also now only guys with good verifications allowed on the friday?

Wondering why the sudden change in policy?

Perhaps they've asked the regular couples and found that it could be negatively impacting the regular custom on a Saturday night?

Saturday nights are usually couples and single women only nights.

I think Paul was concerned that if couples turned up and found single guys there, it might put them off.

That's why, I think, it's now spread over Friday and Saturday, so guys can still go. Friday is normally a night when single men are allowed so it doesn't involve changing the way things run, and potentially confusing the regulars.

It sounds like they tried allowing single men on both nights but found, for whatever reason, it didn't work for the club.

To be fair, it's the regulars that keep the club going. Fab nights might bring in new people but they aren't the bulk of the custom.

It really isn't a sudden change of policy, the last couple of socials that have been held at Xtasia on a Saturday night have allowed Single guys in as one offs.

The first FFFF that was held allowed unlimeted Single males access, a section of those single males then went and spoilt it for others by bad behaviour and there were a lot of complaints. From then on Xtasia had to find a way of allowing single males access but being a bit more careful on how many they allowed in.

Here is part of the the OP from the FFFF weekend held last Dec,

Following the success of the 2 previous FFFF events, we've decided to say a massive "Thank you" to the entire community on Fab for their support over our first twelve months here at Xtasia.

We'll be opening our doors "Free of Charge" on the 3 consecutive dates of Friday 6th Dec, Sat 7th Dec and Sun 8th Dec, to hold a Christmas get together for each section of our community.

Friday 6th Dec will be for couples, single females and single guys to attend, free of charge, from 8pm through to 3am. All we ask is that the single guys be existing members of the club, so we can control numbers and behaviour.

Sat 7th Dec will be for couples and single females only, with no single males in attendance. No club membership required for attendees. 8pm through to 3am.

Sunday the 8th Dec will be an open event for Fetish enthusiasts, open to all although single guys must be existing Fet members of the club. 2pm through to 8pm

Single males were not allowed on the Sat night then either, so no sudden change in policy.

Any questions about the decision should got to Xtasia direct though, as I'm sure they can't keep up with every thread and reply to every thread

Paul did say at the time that was just for the socials, he was concerned it would impact their regular business and it wasn't something that would be done regularly.

Letting single guys in on a Saturday for a social was an issue for him and something I remember a discussion on here seeking a "solution" for.

Asking for "single guys must have good verifications" on the FFFF thread is a new thing, not seen it before from _tasia? That is a change in policy is it not?

It does beg the question who would allow a "bad verification" on their profile?

Will watch the thread and wait to see what _tasia's response is, as it appears a few others have questioned this.

It sounds like that comes from the comment above saying when any single guys were allowed in, a few didn't behave well.

This seems like an attempt to restrict entry to people that can be "vouched" for in some way, in the hope that they will have some idea about etiquette.

The term "good verifications", I'd guess, just means that they have meet in person verifications that appear genuine and suggest the person may have an idea of how to behave in a club, and what swinging is all about.

What about male Fab members who don't have any verifications yet? Its hard for guys to get meets on here at the best of times, socials are usually the best way for them to get veri's.

Thanks for the queries folks. Bottom line, we have set nights and always have. We've pushed it slightly in the past by allowing a few, very small numbers, single guys in on a Sat, but it always ends up with negative comments from the couples who attend, regulars and socialites in all honesty. So, we're running two nights, Fri and Sat with the two groups catered for. If looking for singles, and can only make Saturday night....then sorry not a lot we can do about it. If single, and can only make it Sat, same applies, but in all honesty you're in a very small minority, and we need to draw the line somewhere. So, decision made. Hopefully everyone will find a way of attending one or both nights.

As for verri's, is a way for us to check that a person understands the scene and clubs. We aren't checking they are "good", lol..as pointed out who would put a bad one up, but that they have some, some maybe link to people we know already, or clubs we know understand true swinging, etc. If none, or a couple written last week by others who have only just joined as well, its not really what we want to see. Our aim, to ensure everyone has a good night here, no more than that.

I'd say if he only came in as part of a couple to get in, that would be grounds to complain and have him removed. That's just taking the whatsit.

........... and this gives a perfect reason as to why "socials" and "club meets" should be in my opinion be classed as 2 seperate entities...

1) because it give people a better indication as to what to maybe expect....

2) because organisers are at the whims of the clubs these events are held in....

sorry... these are not true "social" events in my eyes.... in this case you have the ludercrous situation where a couple who have been in the scene for one week can go.... a single woman who has been in the scene for one week can go.... but, for example, a single guy for example who has been well respected in the scene for lets say "10 years" couldn't.....

please don't answer back with "well.... couple up!" that's a kop out answer!!! and defeats the whole purpose of a lot of the advice that is given about going and getting yourself known....

lets not forget these are there are money making events for the clubs.... but hey, they don't have to do any of the work... the others are doing all their advertising for them....

maybe this is finally the catalist it takes for the owners of the site to finally recognise there is a difference

1) because it give people a better indication as to what to maybe expect....

2) because organisers are at the whims of the clubs these events are held in....

sorry... these are not true "social" events in my eyes.... in this case you have the ludercrous situation where a couple who have been in the scene for one week can go.... a single woman who has been in the scene for one week can go.... but, for example, a single guy for example who has been well respected in the scene for lets say "10 years" couldn't.....

please don't answer back with "well.... couple up!" that's a kop out answer!!! and defeats the whole purpose of a lot of the advice that is given about going and getting yourself known....

lets not forget these are there are money making events for the clubs.... but hey, they don't have to do any of the work... the others are doing all their advertising for them....

maybe this is finally the catalist it takes for the owners of the site to finally recognise there is a difference "

I wouldn't hold your breath, TV and TS are still a single category...

"we as a couple like the Xtasia format on a sat night , we were there a couple of weekends ago and a single male came in with another girl as a couple , hen as soon as they walked down the stairs they separated , the moment he had a couple of drinks down his neck and became brave he was a total pain in the arse ,,,,,, im afraid he didn't do you single guys any favours at all , "
He should have been pointed out to us. Please, we need to stamp this out. Arrive as a couple, stay as a couple, play as a couple.

"........... and this gives a perfect reason as to why "socials" and "club meets" should be in my opinion be classed as 2 seperate entities...

We placed our "advert" for the event on the Swing Clubs Events Forum, we didn't start a post here! We also haven't called it a Social, its a Free entry event! Single guys with 10 years experience can come, on a Friday! and sorry, but we are a business, with overheads but thank you for keeping the thread going!

Yes it was a top night out was'nt it, a saturday night if i recall correctly, no restrictions on who could attend, single guys, couples, single females, tv/ts/tg/, aliens from outer space, lol, all were allowed and it was a blast. There was talk on here a while ago about organising a social in brum, either broad street or arcadian and the last one was a good laugh, i'd go to another one for sure.

You did and that was the right place for it.

This thread started off as one thing and has ended up as something else so Im going to close this now and if people want to carry on the conversation they can do it on the thread about the event.
