"My childhood memories are now full of fecking peadophiles!" Yeah, I'm sure all the victims feel the same.
"My childhood memories are now full of fecking peadophiles!" I know what you mean it's not nice is it Wonder who's up next?
| |||
| |||
| |||
"pretty shocked at that tbh. what the hell is going wrong with the world...." its not "going wrong" its been wrong for a very long time, its just more acceptable to talk about it now, and its being dealt with. Not so long ago, single unwed mothers were locked up in catholic homes, anyone with mental illness was locked up in the "mad house" or sanatorium and poor people were locked away for fear of offending folks. Its part of society moving forward and protecting its weak and vulnerable.

"What is it with children liking old men with beards and glasses.......jesus! I'm kidding!!!!!!!!! " Frankie Boyle will be in touch for royalties
| |||
"My childhood memories are now full of fecking peadophiles!" Yes. And for every one that's been exposed, there will be several more "worried" people, looking over their shoulder and waiting for the knock on the door.
"I feel very let down & disappointed by Rolf Harris " Same here - I really didn't want to believe it of him... ... a childhood hero turns out to be a foul monster after all... Really makes me wonder who I can trust... I feel so sad for all those victims who have remained silent because they didn't feel that the world would listen to them. They are the ones that we should remember - not the abusers.,!
"another dirty old man, what a surprise. I'm not convinced of his guilt, personally but I accept the verdict - he's guilty. But sheesh ... You sound angry with men in general - like a lot of women on this site it seems lol " Well you would say that if you werent convinced he was guilty wouldnt you.
| |||
"My childhood memories are now full of fecking peadophiles! I know what you mean it's not nice is it Wonder who's up next?" Harry and Matthew Corbett for fisting bears
"I feel very let down & disappointed by Rolf Harris " Me too, I really liked him. Grew up watching him on tv. I'm really shocked!!!

"I feel very let down & disappointed by Rolf Harris " i feel the same x
"He's in his 80's and going to prison. Will he ever come out again?" Who knows? Do you think he should be spared a custodial sentence because of his age? (Imagine that said in a non aggressive way it's a genuine question not an accusation )
"He's in his 80's and going to prison. Will he ever come out again? Who knows? Do you think he should be spared a custodial sentence because of his age? (Imagine that said in a non aggressive way it's a genuine question not an accusation )" No I dont. Its just sad for everyone involved, mostly the victims

(Imagine that said in a non aggressive way it's a genuine question not an accusation )" No, his age nor the length of elapsed time since his offences should have no bearing on his level or length of sentence.. his victims have and will continue to live with what he did..
"Who's next mr tumble ? " Jaysus nooooo!!!!!!!
| |||
"I'm not convinced of his guilt, personally but I accept the verdict - he's guilty. " Seems very clear he was guilty. There were multiple allegations. It's much more likely that he was an abuser than it is that all these different women decided to lie and give themselves a tough ordeal for no real reason.

As sad as it is to hear about these things, it's better that we are starting to hear about them and that action is now being taken. God knows what else has been covered up over the years.

"another victim is his wife .. poor woman" I don't know the circumstances or how much she knew but I wouldn't paint her as a victim unless I knew for sure she was unaware of what went on. There are a lot of guilty people in cases like these, the ones that turn a blind eye.
"another victim is his wife .. poor woman" the main victim was a close friend of his daughter who he groomed over many years, there is a part of me that wonders in that circumstance if his wife had any suspicion perhaps.. or as with these type's he duped all and sundry.. she's not a victim in the sense of what's happened but she no doubt has been effected and will continue to be so.. any partner that 'stands by' such people when guilt has been proven is beyond contempt..

"I feel very let down & disappointed by Rolf Harris " yes I am too ....... I was thinking he was a good man and caring until now . Do feel sorry for his family.
| |||
"id like to know if his wife did know or not although I doubt she would own up to it" Its his daughter i feel sorry for she looks like a good person, it was in the mail online today saying that rolf haris had a mistress and moved her into their home so she knew about that.

"Um because true love is unconditional ? Sometimes you can't help who you love! Rightly or wrongly!" Very wrong
"The thing I don't get is why his daughter and wife are still supporting him " They love him. He has been married to his wife for donkeys, his daughter has only one dad...they are probably still reeling at the prospect their loved one is a convicted sex offender.
"Um because true love is unconditional ? Sometimes you can't help who you love! Rightly or wrongly! Very wrong " Why is it very wrong? Ok what he did was appalling but they can still love the man they know.
| |||
"Agreed he is guilty and is going to prison and will probably spend what's left of the rest of his life there. But what bothers me now is that they will now spend £1000's and £1000's of tax money on trying him for other offences that have now come up with what result? Extended sentence ? Surely once he is sentenced and in prison they should be drawing a line under it? I mean there will be no more that they can do to him is there ? Just my thoughts in it " Because it allows his other victims to know that they have been heard and justice is served - this will help them rebuild their lives and move on

It allows for the chance to be heard and more importantly believed, and closure. This is about their vindication not his punishment.
"Um because true love is unconditional ? Sometimes you can't help who you love! Rightly or wrongly! Very wrong Why is it very wrong? Ok what he did was appalling but they can still love the man they know." Its an interesting thought, the bonds that we develop etc.. could you love him if he were your Dad..? does beg the question as to what is our own personal point of no return if in a similar situation..?
"Um because true love is unconditional ? Sometimes you can't help who you love! Rightly or wrongly! Very wrong Why is it very wrong? Ok what he did was appalling but they can still love the man they know." His daughter has said he ignored her when she was a child and that she was always trying to get his attention and that he wasnt always very nice to his wife either but he must have been nice sometimes and you dont forget the times when your parents were good to you.
"and you dont forget the times when your parents were good to you." but does that and the love they give you etc mean that if one had done what he did you would still love him.. what if he had done it to his own, ie his grand daughter..?
| |||
"and you dont forget the times when your parents were good to you. but does that and the love they give you etc mean that if one had done what he did you would still love him.. what if he had done it to his own, ie his grand daughter..? " well if he did it to his grandaughter that would be different. no i wouldnt still love him but would still care about him, maybe pity him its hard to know how you would feel if you havnt lived with them. i remember when fred west was jailed his kids said despite what he had done they missed going round to his house for coffee so even fred west and wife must have had their good side.

"He's in his 80's and going to prison. Will he ever come out again?" Who cares his victims have a life sentence. Hope he rots. There is never any excuse for his type of behaviour. Children have the right to be protected!

"Next week's episode of Animal Hospital where Rolf explains how to handle a young beaver has now been cancelled." vasrard you beat me to it ??
| |||
"As the door of his cell slams shut behind him, the lights go out, Rolf puts his head in his hands and begins to cry, Behind him a voice starts to sing, "Do you think I would leave you crying, when there's room on my Bunk for two"........" Love it. Laughed out loud.

"kindly old man with a beard eh!..oh well soon be xmas " funny if you wouldnt of known he was famous and a nice bloke you would of thought he looked like a right weirdo.
"Hmmm, out in less than 3. What's the betting he's in an cushy open nick before you can say 'can you see what it is yet?'" Wandsworth I believe
"Hmmm, out in less than 3. What's the betting he's in an cushy open nick before you can say 'can you see what it is yet?'" will be much closer to 4 and a bit... they always keep the "sex offenders" seperate, and with someone as high profile, I am sure it wont be open jail, but will be a lower grade nick... andy coulson on the other hand..... oh dear
| |||

"Next week's episode of Animal Hospital where Rolf explains how to handle a young beaver has now been cancelled.vasrard you beat me to it ??" He hey
"Hmmm, out in less than 3. What's the betting he's in an cushy open nick before you can say 'can you see what it is yet?' Wandsworth I believe " Yeah that's where he's starting off. I bet he's not there long.
"Hmmm, out in less than 3. What's the betting he's in an cushy open nick before you can say 'can you see what it is yet?' Wandsworth I believe Yeah that's where he's starting off. I bet he's not there long." I think your right. Probs closer to where he lives so its easier for his wife to visit
"It's such a shame to hear about Rolf Harris being found guilty of sexual offences. He touched so many people in so many different ways. " How is it a shame? The dirty perv got away with abuse for years. 5 years 9 months! It's a joke he should be given more. So what he was a good entertainer and loads of people liked him. If you dont want to go to prison don't abuse people. Don't feel sorry for him he has got a lot less than he deserves.
| |||
| |||
"Bet wife doesn't visited.. They were arriving to the court in separate cars a mile away when on trial. The family travelled the last part together in one car ..."
| |||
| |||
"looks bang to rights.." I am not disputing the verdict, the court will have access to a lot of evidence that doesn't make the news. Rolf Harris the character that he has played most of his life has received a death sentence, so as I said it really won't make much difference what or where the sentence on Rolf Harris the man is served, but will make a difference if he is subsequently charged with more offences in his homeland.

| |||
"5 years and 9 months?? Bloody ridiculous!!! P" It's already been referred to whoever it gets referred to for being too lenient, like Stuart Hall was
| |||
"If more of us complain about it being too lenient then his sentence could be extended. Director of public prosecutions office. " He's facing more charges , so there is still chance for it to be extended
