we were having a chat last night,bit random but about stange words people call the remote control for the t.v. i call it the DUF and hubby calls it the remote(boring) someone we know calls it the talking stick!!! does any one else have werid random names for it? or are we just werid lol |

Well just going away from the subject in hand 4 a bit,,,,i know a girl whos dad Calls a nice place in Notts (Arnold) u all heard of it,,,,he calls arnold ---RANA!!! lol lol

I use the word dink for the remote control for the tv. The tv dink. Its just stuck and the kids use it too.
You dink the tv and is normal joined by the hand action "to dink" too lol |

Sounds like the Biscuit advert u first lick it ,,then u dunk it ,,,then u eat it! my mum says u shouldnt feed dogs biscuits so i have to eat yours instead.

we call it the "zapper" in our house, lol
We call the microwave the "zapper" too

I just call it 'the remote' - how boring is that ?
Funny I remember the first remote control VCR - ferguson 3V01 - the remote was attached to a long lead which plugged into the front of the machine on a 5pin DIN plug
And
The first Teletext decoder, which was a box the size of a VCR which stood on top of your TV and also had a 'remote control' attached to a long lead ..
Thn ITT brought out an ultrasonic remote, which when a button was pressed and if your hearing was up to scratch, you could actually hear the bloody thing ! - Drove dogs crazy it did
How times have changed eh ?

NO no i remember all those things uve just mentioned brought back all the child hood memories 4 me,,,my mum n dad at the time ad both those things.
i remember the old Top loader video too!

Loll,brough back memories of leaving school and 'doing my time' as a television engineer
Left the trade in 1999, could never go back but loved it while I was there
