Yep, on the whole, the Latin American teams have played far better footy than their European counterparts, - very predictable but sadly, true.

Belgium aside, I really hope there's no Europeans in the final.

I liked it when the commentator said the dutch are reliant on Robin (Robben). Give that man the trotters independant traders 3 wheeler.

Messi has carried Argentina through the world cup so far, i think Robben will do the same for Holland. Could it be a Holland Argentina final, the Messi vs Robben show?

It would be good for footie if the lesser countries won, some of them have done well so far, but the bigger teams, Brazil, Netherlands, Germans etc are managing to get through.

A Brazil v Argentina final would be a feisty matter.

I was just switching the television off and noticed that the USA are playing. Does that mean they have done better than the England?

Well there's a thing.

From my not very connected to this perspective this seems to be the Developing World Cup games but I guess I was wrong as the rich countries are doing well.

My neighbour keeps making really loud in pain type noises which I have assumed are missed goal related.

What a game!!!

It was said that

Jermaine Defoe wasn't picked for the England squad because he joined the 'inferior' American MLS;

think again!!

No you can qualify through a grand parent. Or even a spouse after a while.

The MLS is getting better and Jermaine Defoe should have gone instead of Welbeck but in hindsight, he should have taken Rooney.

What the the USAvBelgium game has shown me is that America, like in all sports, are slowly but surely becoming a force to be reckoned with. Why? because they're developing their league by developing homegrown players.

It's like there's at least one brilliant game every day!

I don't like penalties, I think it's a crummy way to find a winner, but I was ssssoooooooo wanting the Yanks to equalise at the death, - they deserved another crack at it!

Its MLS not the MLS the yanks get irate over the use of the word "the" and we don't want to upset them as they have all the bombs!

I guess it doesn't really make sense putting a 'the' before 'MLS' so, they do have a point.

And pointy bombs

Shot and killed just 2 weeks after his own goal sent Colombia out of the world cup.

Was shot 6 times by an enforcer for the medellin drug cartel, apparently they lost a lot of money when Colombia lost that game.

Yes the boss had lost a lot of money after the US won the match, Andres was meant to of gone to Las Vegas to see family but decided to return to Columbia...he was out with a friend and he was shot while out

Same with the most important people in the game REF'S.

That Swedish one retired due to death threats from Chelsea fans I think after a champ's league game.

Cracking game last night. Whoever dreamed up the golden goal nonsense a few years ago should be made to watch the extra time on a loop to realise the error of their ways. Doesn't always work out the way it did last night, but when you get 2 teams going for it you get pure drama and brilliant sport. Well done to both countries.

I would like to see Brazil win the tournament. However, would be equally happy if the Germans won, just because of the investment in youth that their FA makes. If only the English FA and EPL would follow suit.
