Any addiction can ruin lives and families
Gambling, drugs, alcohol all have financial and social impacts on the individual and their family and friends. I wouldn't say any are worse than others.
It's the will power to overcome them that is the hardest part. Support is easily available in various forms but it's down to the person and what led them down that path

Simple, smoking, it kills, slowly, said this as have COPD, started smoking at 10   "
Dont Wait til you have a stroke n lose your dependence n ability to work n being a decent parent
Its not just the smoker who suffers  |

I will openly admit to having tried most substances in the past. Nowadays I'm quite content with a pint & a roll up. I can go without beer for much longer than it takes for me to be wanting a fag, so In my experience it is nicotine |

Any addiction has the potential to ruin relationships and health,addicts are self absorbed in their addiction whether its drugs,sex,gambling or shoe shopping,everything else in their lives is secondary to the addiction |
