Just from what you written in your first post - you'll pass any literacy test the NHS can come up with. If you can count to 10, you've got numeracy sorted. Depending on which position you're applying for, as long as you can put your trousers on the right way round, you'll get the job. If you can't, you'll get a management position.

For some trusts I've had to do a numeracy and literacy tests at interview but others have been different.

The literacy and numeracy test to get onto the degree course was so much harder though

I do and I didn't, but I do have A level maths and statistics so I'm guessing they thought I'd sort of gone past that!

Do you mean functional skills? Are they insisting you all have a certain level?

Yes that's what is now known as functional skills, they need to be less than five or is it three years old ....as if maths and English changes

Niece recently qualified as a Nurse. It is now a graduate profession....or at least it is if you were born in UK. have come across an wakeful lot from Far East and Eastern Europe who can barely string two sentences together and need to take socks off to count beyond ten.

Where we're you born?

I remember doing a typing test and another dictation test. Don't remember doing a numeracy one, but it was ten years ago!

Google practice for level 3 Functional Skills you should find some help, but you should also be helped by your assessor (assuming you're doing an NVQ?)or teacher or mentor.

I know it is annoying, I think its so that people keep their maths and English skills fresh and up to date.
