Suarez definitely isn't bigger than the club, he has to go now surely, in some ways he's now even more attractive to big clubs - no international games for I will guess at least one season, maybe even two.
It'll be interesting to see how FIFA deal with this one.
Overall though, I can't think of any player who is bigger than the club, even if a few thought it at times, usually they're moved on etc. |

"I hear Liverpool are having a meeting about Suarez today"
not sure why.....
if they supported him thru the racial abuse against evra, and the biting of ivanovic, they are hardly going to turn around and cancel his contract now
if it had been some "run of the mill" player... they would have been shot of him ages ago...
I can think of 70 million reasons why that wont happen

Nope no player is bigger than a club and I don't care who they are.
Liverpool are in a very difficult situation at the moment and have to say that even as a Man Utd fan I do feel bad for them.Any decision they make on Suarez would depend very much on what action FIFA takes I would think.
I'd put money on the fact they're ruing the fact they didn't let him go last season considering his previous behaviour i.e. Evra, Ivanovic. |

End of day it was assault fact its a footy player is irrelevant and folk need to stop treating footy as above the laws of the land.
Its assault and from employment aspect its gross misconduct and a sackable offence.
In addition if they suspend him they can keep his registration so he cannot play for another club. Leave him to rit.
To me makes no odds who the player is as said its assault. |

Why would they want to sack him when they can sell him for 50 million +
As much as I dislike the guy it was assault but nothing is guna come of that because every tackle could be classed as assault, what goes on the pitch generally stays in the pitch |

Sadly because of players value to a club, they can get away with 'quite' a lot before a club really takes any action. So as has been seen before some players value lets them dictate to there club. |

There is no justification for biting someone because you are 'caught up in the moment'
"Sorry officer, i was so caught up in the moment that i just had to bite someone"
Its just not right for him to do that, an thats without the kids who will now think its ok to 'do a suarez' because he keeps doing it and getting away with it.
If a kid bites your kid in school there would be murder, if somebody bites you in work there would be murder.
He needs to be banned from the game forever to set an example that this is unacceptable to do, especially 3 times. |

Mortality in sport and football in particular disappeared a long time ago, don't expect Liverpool to start now, as bad as biting someone is they tried to defend his racist outburst so can see where this is going, I.e. nowhere

Stop reading the daily mail - that was a made up story and they were forced to apologise for running it
He said it in the UK where he livrs, he lived in the Netherlands before that with it's diverse multicultural society, he knew what he was saying - I'm pretty sure we don't allow gang rapists targeting school girls just because it is ignored in other countries - apologies for straw man, but excuses excuses for being a horrible person |

"At every away match watching Cardiff the home fans call us sheep shagging bastards do we give a fuck about racism a good excuse for a lot of people"
Yeah but you're Welsh (irony alert)
Sadly not all forms of racism are treated equally, some seem to be acceptable - I'm not a kill joy but there is a difference between banter and racism |

I think kids biting in school and biting in work is abit different..... so you would like the ban one of the best players in the world just cuz he bit someone how is that Gona benifit the sport...if you go down that road where will end.....would you ban and f 1 driver if he caused and accident and put another driver in hospital ....would you ban a cricket bowler for hitting the batsman in his face with the ball.....these all happen regularly.... |

If anyone, no matter what sport, deliberately assaulted someone else then they should have the full powers of that sports law thrown at them ....
Suggesting that being hit by a cricket ball is equivalent or worse is quite bizarre |
