The mugger/home invader did us all a favour in keeping this rent-a-gob ballsack off the TV for a week or so.
Even in the company of other thick footballers and the intolerable brummie twat Adrian Chiles, Wrighty stands out as being uniquely stupid and devoid of original thought in a way that few others can.

Just to clear things up.
I'm obviously not advocating the invasion of homes or muggings; I'm quite sure the experience is awful and life-changing, and not in a positive way.
It just riles me the way in which football, and sport in general, is broadcast. There are plenty of fine writers on the game out there in blogs and fanzines, full of insight and original ideas. Why not get these guys on TV and radio?
Instead, being an ex-pro who is willing to fire off a load of trite waffle is enough to make you an "expert".
To be a great jockey, one does not need to have first been a horse. |

Scam indeed. It is essential protection against posts that in the light of due consideration, may be deemed unwise.
FORUM INSURANCE
If you are about to post that only fat girls like gangbangs, CD's should have their own loo, all single girls are blokes, all blokes are timewasters, Thatcher was probably a bloke AND a timewaster and so on, THINK.
Do you need insurance to protect your life, reputation and ensure that everyone doesn't block you on grounds of taste? For reasonable amounts, you too can invest in the research into Tina Titz' Temporal Travelling Jalopy (guarantied to be bigger on the outside) and once it has been perfected, I shall go forwards in time, get next week's lotto numbers, but then I'll go back in time and send you a message before you post your reputation destroying topic. All for reasonable rates. |

I would much prefer to hear experts like Wrighty, Martin Oneil and Gordon Strachan who have played the game than fuckwits like Adrian Chiles (good luck to him landing one of the best jobs on TV) and know it all patronising commentators like Alan Green. (Sorry, there is nothing positive to say there)

I like the sound of this insurance thing but...and it's a big but...Chortle chortle...do I really need to insure what I have anyway ? I'm not chasing people so if they block me I'm not at a loss.

There are some ex-pros who are great, of course. I think Danny Murphy has been pretty good during this World Cup, in spite of never being a top player.
The horse quote/paraphrase is not mine, by the way, but that of the great Arrigo Sacchi. One of footballs master thinkers and tacticians (who never played pro football). |

Admittedly, its not actually possible to have been both a horse and a human (unless you subscribe to a religion that includes reincarnation) but the logical thread is definitely there. |

If the opinion is that the guy is a bad pundit then say so, that's cool its an opinion which we all have and some will agree and others will differ..
to revel in his families experience as just cause for him not being on the screen is pretty vile..
to then wriggle and not have the bollocks to stand by ones original vile opinion is a bit pathetic..
btw, he Ian Wright was very generous when colleagues and I were fundraising for the child of another colleague who was in the Royal Marsden several yrs ago so guess I am biased that having seen that side of him I am of the opinion that he's a decent bloke at heart.. |

Talking of reading your post properly, where exactly do you say you were surprised to see him back on the telly?
Nothing wrong with my reading, I did jump to a conclusion though.
That being you didn't like him and that's why you decided to write what you did.
Now onto telling me how to follow a thread properly (again, if that's what you men't by 'some people') - why didn't you put the post in the proper location, ie, The World Cup Thread?

No, it's a pretty famous one. Sacchi is something of a hero of mine.
It was a counter point to the suggestion that because he was never a pro football player, he could not be a great coach.
Admittedly, its not actually possible to have been both a horse and a human (unless you subscribe to a religion that includes reincarnation) but the logical thread is definitely there. "
if he is such a great thinker, then you would think he would think better than to use that quote.
its not even right.
to be a great coach, you dont have to have been a footballer, you just have to be a great student of the game and know what your shitin about.
to be a great jockey, you dont need to have been a horse, but you nee to understand what it takes to control a horse and get the best from him.
you dont need to be a decent poster in a forum, but you need to know what kind of shite is dripping from your otherwise lucid mind |

"So concerned about his family he's back in Brazil? Blimey! "
So what business is it to anyone else or you - apart from vilifying someone for having done the right thing by his family - the paper reported it, he didn't print it himself, he came home to make sure his family were okay....I would make an assumption he put into effect security for them when he was away, then he went back to his job....so???? |

What's this insurance scam that's going on ?

What would you call it then? Your post sounded like you were condemning the man, which is vilifying.
Lol no it doesn't.
It does to me "
Just goes to show we all see things differently and have different rationale.
If anything sarcastic but vilify bit harsh |

I am not sure concerned and sarcastic is the same definition.
Concerned : worried, troubled, or anxious.
Sarcastic : marked by or given to using irony in order to mock or convey contempt.
As you say though, we all see things differently |

I hate agreeing with ruggers, I tend to think it means one of us is going soft. (Not in that way) but I agree with her, IMO the post was a nasty dig at someone who's family have just been put through a traumatic experience.
Ian Wright may not be everyone's cup of tea but he is enthusiastic and gives a viewpoint both from a professional angle and also that of a fan. |
