I'm the same with both my son & daughter. You're still their parent but they are also adults. Glad to hear you have such a great relationship with your son. Xx |

I remember my daughter falling out with 1 of her friends when she was13. They were discussing best friends, my daughter told her " my mum will always be my bestest friend". Her friend felt a bit put out. They are still friends & although I'm her mum & she has just become a mum, nothing has changed. I'm still her best friend. Even to the point when she had her baby & asked me to be with them she introduced me to the midwife as" this is Lynne, my mum & best friend" xx |

I think that's a mum thing. As a man I didn't give birth to my son, so perhaps that's why I dont see him that way even now |

Both our boys are like mates to me, but I still have to put them right at times. They both still live at home, although they have both left to live with their girlfriends on two occasions. They're 25 and 28 |

"im not best mates with my kids,im still their Mum and I like it that way,i have a best mate and she knows everything about me,i don't want my kids to know everything"
I don't think there's anything my lad doesn't no about me. When me an his mum split 13/14 yrs ago she made a point of telling him all the bad things I used to do when I was young as my past is of a colourful side but it is however past but rather than turn him against me it made me a hero in his eyes an although im far from proud of my youth I decided he would at least no the fact. so I leveled with him an it just carried on from there. Now hes the same with me theres nothing we need hide an I love it like this |
