Avon facecream is used by the army as the only truly effective insect repellent. Google it. It is quite famous now.

Yep Avon skin so soft is legendary at being an insect repellent. Take garlic capsules for a week before building the does up but always following manufacturers guidance.

Take a tramp with you and get the flies to land on him or her.

Avon skin so soft (the green one) used by many in the states - worked a treat for me at rodeos

Avon so soft used by forestry commission workers. Excellent stuff.

I was told never use insect repellant as it doesn't work, this was from a Squaddie though so maybe it only counts for military insect repellant.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Drag some poo behind you on a long string. They'll go to that and leave you alone.

Wear white - that apparently is less attractive.

"Citronella. "

It's a citronella derivative that is in skin so soft original, the one so many people recommend.

You can get a bottle of the skin so soft off eBay or ask if anyone you know is an Avon rep. It's around 3 quid.

Many of the stronger insect repellents have got some major chemicals in - the ones I've used can melt nail polish!
