Hey thought id ask on here as this seems to be the best place for a quick response.

Having taken a week off work, noticed a huge difference in my health as my illness is brought on by stress.

Looking to change career but trying to decide what is best for me.

What I'm best at or what i think I'm best at?

Movies/tv series ideas, my biggest passion is those, im not good at writing scripts/screenplays but the actual idea from beginning to end.

What can i do with those ideas?

Ideal places to work:

movie/tv industry creating new ideas/technical advisor on those ideas.

Bloodhound sanctuary

Someone who helps choose music for film/tv

Got a couple of business/website ideas but where to start with those.

Willing to relocate.

Tried starting my own business a couple of years ago but wasn't enough to live off. That was transferring vhs, negatives etc to dvd.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear you feel yourself being affected by stress in the workplace. I know exactly how you feel. I reached the point where I was having heart palpatations, and being lefy clutching my chest after walking up the stairs. I took two months off, and just felt it all melt away.

As for finding a career in a new industry, well that's difficult. And is something I would love to do as well. I recently attended a channel 4 talent event, and the amount of fantastically talented people there was frightening. Especially giving how much they had produced and the sheer quality of it. And they still found it hard to get in. If you haven;t work in film / tv / radio before, and you dont know anyone in the sector, you will definitely struggle.

The best you could do is start producing videos for youtube. Then possibly try to get work in a local radio station, like hospital radio or a non profit network. Also, if Radio is your thing, then try Mixcloud.com. A very good place to get your work out there.

As for the scriptwriting.... good luck! If your really interested then write every day. keep a folder with your ideas and slowly develop them. Also, look at the bbc / channel4. They both have work experience and training courses. You would probably have to relocate to either solford, Cardif or London. Also, on Twitter look for Spimon. H is a talent scout for the BBC. Lovely guy, has a great blog for getting into the industry.

Failing all that, you could try to produce your own things, with friends, and post on youtube or vimeo. I too hope to get into tv one day. So, might see you there!

My biggest issue is confidence. I dont really have local friends.

Live with my parents who are not supportive at all in following your dreams. They'd prefer i work my way up in the job im in, which is dealing with debt, im at the bottom and its stressful as hell, going up is way more stress.

Been saving for a while now, and considering a road trip across the states, ending in L.A and going to pitch my ideas
