bogof Cheese. Yep

either that or a Royal Flush in Hearts against a Full house - it was rude, and unwise, to grin too much.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I used to dabble in record trading (vinyl), so there are a few examples of "bought for £x, sold for £10x"..

Other than that, my house would have been a great deal if I hadn't subsequently remortgaged it 4 times to fund the wife's "lifestyle" requirements...

Ha - if I hadn't I'd now have a mortgage approximately equal to 75% of my current salary.

THEN, I'd be a lucky man....

9p for a hot roast chicken at my local Morrisons, near closing time on a Thu late closing evening.

Only once in the past 4y though, 49p was the next best, usually around 1.49GBP.

I am on first name basis with some of the staff on that shift!

There is a story on the net, a few years old now, of a Canadian guy gaining a detached house by swapping a big red paper clip through about 12 trades. A good story.

Lest year went to our local ford dealer for a new car, the most they could knock off was £1000 after a lot of pushing. Went online and bought the same car for £2600 less and that was driven to me by a dealer in the midlands. Nice feeling

We ordered and paid a deposit on 14 double glazed windows for our house, the company mucked us about something terrible and our builder was about to get them from somewhere else, we feared we would lose our £500 deposit.

Then we heard the company were in financial trouble so our builder went down and demanded the windows, which they just gave him to load into the back of his truck.

The firm went bust two days after, we never did get asked for the £2900 balance from the liquidators.....so we said nothing.

The windows look very nice fitted in our house.....Happy days.

List price was £2399, but it was last yrs model discounted to £1399

Serious bit of kit, suspect it's going to get me into a whole lot of trouble!
