We used to have Jackdaws in our chimney, and had to evict them because they were blocking the flue to our gas fire You should have seen the size of the twigs and sticks they rammed in the chimney.
There was enough timber for Tarzan to build another fookin tree house |

Our garden is blessed with wild birds. We have an old nest box nailed to a conifer. Been there 20 years that we know of and for the first time in ages, we have Blue Tits nesting in there...
It is fantastic watching them flying about and popping in and out of their "house". We are lucky, we have a gardening fanatic next door to us and the garden is as clean as the inside of a house with everything in its place. Our garden is a bit messy but guess who gets all the wildlife? Bloody fantastic.
Just as an aside to this, came out of our daughters house toninght and there was a fox! Small development and right next to open fields. It looked fantastic as it high tailed it outta there. |

Yeah, sadly with one less
Our garden is full of the gorgeous little things, we have a pond with a waterfall and there were 11 of them all washing in the water last night....while another 6 or 7 were picking the seeds up from the floor that a mother was shaking out of the bird feeder. |

It's fantastic to see all the activity in a garden, missing our little family now but they're bound to be around! Had 2 hedgehogs in the garden last night - looked like Mum and little one so will get some dog food for them today! Z |

I get foxes, hedgehogs, squirrels and a plethora of birds.
Last year the vixen brought her cubs to see me, I put out food for them and the hedgehogs.
One of the best sights I saw was a fox cub and a hedgehog eating together whilst my cats looked on from on high |

Kudos to you for feeding the hedgehogs - I run a hedgehog rescue centre so I love it when I read that people are feeding them. Two things, though - cat food is better for them, but NOT any fish flavours, they can't digest it properly and definitely NO bread and milk (lactose and gluten intolerant!)
We're very lucky where we live, we get forest and coastal birds in our garden, plus foxes, badgers, deer, and once, a donkey! We also have 5 cats and it is hilarious watching them when something bigger than them comes in the garden |

I didn't know that cat food was better - will get that instead although I knew not to give them bread and milk - they were so sweet dashing about the garden last night! Z |
