I wondered if anyone was watching - it's been fairly disturbing seeing it.

I'd prefer to learn how to deal with them privately, rather than reporting them and myself to authorities. But if life was at risk, the police may be called.

I can really understand the enormous demands if your child has mental health difficulties, though this show was a bit mixed, and think things were largely due to their strategies.

It was more of a shock show rather than help with strategies, imo. You probably would grasp the kind of basic advice they gave out. It was much like many of those channel 4 and 5 shows where they show stuff to get headlines. It was sad to watch, as the parents were very caring and loving but were having nightmares with them. They did add bits like managing sugar intake too. Hope it is worthwhile for you

My mum would threaten to report me when i was a kid...to my dad!

That was enough for me to sit up straight and eat my greens

That is very young to be showing violent tendencies to his mother. Hopefully it's just a phase and he'll grow out of it.

Essex.

It clearly didn't help letting one of them play GTA... After watching it my 15 year old son said "Come on mum lets have a fight..."

My reply was "If you touch your mother, you will be picking your teeth out of the wall..."

He quietly went and did the dishwasher...

Set the boundaries now x say no - not acceptable but give him an alternative x take a long look at yourself n check you are giving him a good role model x I'm sure it'll all be ok

Yeah

I have tried talking

Tried walking away

Ignoring

Reasoning

Taking him out of the situation

You name it I have tried it

Some time he is ok

Others not

Hoping for some tips soon on other ways to deal with it

love him to bits

Even with my bruises lol

Usually I would've said that games always get scapegoated. But on this occasion, the mother shouldn't have bought it for him.

Also, on the video the kids sister recorded showed the father laughing off what looked to be a rather nasty attack by the child.

Ok x I can only go by my experience x I would say - you've hurt mummy x don't do it again x and follow through with punishments x such as not watch fav tv etc

She's 14 now n I'm a single parent x it's tough but you can do it x

I would have them at the doctors to have them checked out. Though for some its genetic you only have to look at the parents to realise that.

Totally agree. I think games do get too much stick, but there has to be a limit imposed by the parents...

The father sitting by and laughing was bang out of order... I don't normally think violence is the answer but if any of our children attacked Frisky like that, they would get a damn good slap...

Violence at a young age is quite unusual unless the child has witnessed violence towards the mother or women...

Has your son been in contact with someone who treats women badly/ disrespectfully ?

Does your son spend any time with his father?

Frisky's ex used to treat his mother and sisters like shit. When my step son came home he was very rude to Frisky...
