Neither! Both actors are non-English and Crowe's accent ranges from south coast to Northumberland. Totally unbelievable, and Costner doesn't even try to mask his South American drawl.
I like them as actors, just not trying to speak with an English accent. Clive Owen could have played that part very effectively. |

Loved Kevin Costner specially as kids loved it and was good to do the ironing to. Liked the baddies very much.
Russell Crowe version pure eye candy. Agree his accent was distracting but was happily drooling in the cinema with my now grown up daughter who was just as impressed.
Guess I like both, same as tea and coffee, both drinks but totally different to taste. |

"Ray Winston could play the part well "
He played a great Will Scarlet in the best adaptation of Robin Hood ever imho.
Robin Of Sherwood on T.V in the 80's.
Very mystical, great characters and the music was good too.
Plus they were all British!!!!

Noticed the other day there's a place called Robin Hood near Huddersfield.
Some say he came from near Sheffield, others say Doncaster.
He was meant to be from a village called Loxley but place names can change over hundreds of years.
I reckon he was just a guy with a very long foreskin.....hence the name Robin the Hooded Man!

Have not seen the Ridley Scott version yet but yes it looks like Gladiator in Green Tights.
The Character Robin Hood though is a non-starter though there is no actual factual evidence the guy ever existed. He is but a fictionary character withing English folklore.
